  1. Yeah, thought about that already. I will. (thumbs u
  2. Well, he stands to make at least an extra $10.50 off of it as they're now selling for $23.99 on their website. But then again, he wouldn't sell it to me at that price either.
  3. There are 2 solutions. The seller sells or the buyer walks. That's it. They both walk and not deal with each other Except the buyer agreed to buy a book, paid for the book, and got bent because he couldn't get an update from the seller on the shipping of the book. It's well within the buyer's right to put the seller on blast. If the seller didn't like the reaction, he should do better with managing his business. Now you have a hot book, that I'm pretty sure is selling for more than what the seller offered it for, being held from a buyer that bought and paid and had every intention of completing the deal. Pretty cut and dry. Make it right or seller does his time on the PL. The original price was like $13.49 with the 10% board discount. After he refunded that and the shipping cost, I looked on eBay and the cheapest color copy was $35.00. I just want one color copy for my own collection.
  4. That's part of my question too. But I did state that I still wanted the book and had paid for it 5 weeks before last night.
  5. When communicating with him you probably should have kept that part to yourself. Very true. I agree.
  6. I'm pretty sure that all "take my ball and go home" instances are probation worthy. In that case, I'd like to nominate Lockford88 to the Probation List. He's been running a sales thread for his Conquest Comics Amazing Spider-Man #4 J. Scott Campbell Exclusive for over a month now. I ordered and paid for 1 color copy on June 27th. In late July, I was going through some of my old e-mails and noticed an open order from this Conquest Comics. I didn't recognize the order right away so I sent an e-mail and said something like "I ordered and paid for this comic about a month ago. So where the hell is it?". I buy a lot of comics through eBay and usually get stuff within a week. About 5 minutes after sending the e-mail I realized it was the order for the ASM #4 JSC Variant through the boards. I then found the thread and saw where Lockford88 had posted that Marvel shipped the comics to him late and that he wouldn't be able to start shipping the comics until the 30th of July. Right after this he calls me about my e-mail. I immediately apologized for my tone in the e-mail and explained what had happened. He seemed to accept my answer and apology at the time. Fast forward to last night. Someone in his thread posts that they received a shipping notice and I said I hadn't received one yet. They then said they received theirs through Paypal. I then responded by saying I also paid through Paypal (denoting my payment date of June 27th) but hadn't received a notice yet. Suddenly, the seller (Lockford88) jumps in and goes off on a tangent about how tired he is of people griping about where their comics are. And I simply stated I hadn't received a shipping notice yet. I wasn't griping about not having the book yet. Since he had been packaging books since July 30th, I thought surely my 1 book purchase would have been included by the evening of Aug. 4th (I was wrong). So his rant led me to state that no I wasn't griping, yes I still wanted the book and that I would never buy from him again. So he took offense and cancelled my initial order. I then tried to place another order through their website (at a higher cost) and he refused that order as well. He is convinced that I was b*tching up one side and down the other about my order and I can't convince him otherwise.
  7. So can I nominate a board member for the Probation List because he cancelled not one order but a 2nd order for a comic only because he doesn't like me and thought I was person_without_enough_empathying about not getting the comic fast enough when in fact I was just inquiring about a shipping notice?
  8. And I had no clue what they were really worth. I looked at the comics first and saw 4 of the Marvel Legends figures laying on the driveway. As soon as I picked them up the wife said "we have a bunch more to get rid of and they brought out a toteful of them and the various Pez dispensers from the garage. I just knew I couldn't go wrong at $3 a pop. UPDATE - I listed all 18 of the Marvel Legends figures on eBay and have already sold 7 of them for $252.00. (thumbs u
  9. And I just picked up 2 nice raw copies over the weekend at a new local comic shop for $5.00 each. Also found the silver 2nd printings of ASM #265 and #362 as well.
  10. I would go easy on that one... doubt anyone has them yet. It's going to be over 1400 orders to ship and they had SDCC. He stated in his thread he's not shipping until Wednesday (the 30th) and he's shipping in order received.
  11. is it time for an update? Great lot. Broke up much of it already. The highlights of what remain are FF #35-61 including 2 sets of 48-50 and 2 copies of 52 and FF annual #3. Tales of Suspense 66-94 and Tales to Astonish 69-83. ASM 24-39 (including a really great looking 39) and an ASM 2. Avengers 17-38. Flash 136-166. Daredevil 7-31 Bunch of Thor's (126-139 including several duplicates including first destroyer) and JIM's (116-124) and X-Men 10-30. On the DC side Action comics 298-338, Adventure 306-364. Batman 156-184. Tec 315-370. Green Lantern 28-42 (Very happy with the 40 also on this one) JLA 19-69, Superboy 103-132, Superman 160-188, The Flash 136-183, World's Finest 134-157. Then there are some run filler type books (Unknown Worlds, Thunder Agents, The Atom, Teen Titans, Superman's Girlfriend and Superman's Pal, Metamorpho, Metal Men, Forbidden World, Doom Patrol, etc)
  12. And I had no clue what they were really worth. I looked at the comics first and saw 4 of the Marvel Legends figures laying on the driveway. 13. Which Marvel Legends did you find? Peace, Chip Beast, Captain America, Daredevil, Dr. Doom, Elektra, Gambit Ghost Rider, Hulk, Human Torch, Iron Man, Magneto, Punisher Sub-Mariner, Thing, Thor, Toad, Wolverine
  14. I guess I should keep tabs on the Tulsa craigslist listings more often.
  15. To get back on topic, I went to a garage sale this morning that had advertised comic books for sale. I ended up not buying any comics (just some Conans in the high 100s/low 200s) but I did pick up 17 different Marvel Legends action figures still new in the box complete with the accompanying comic. All for $3 each. I also picked up a few Superhero and Star Wars Pez figures (some still complete) for $1 each. Oh, and then I found 3 NM+ copies of Walking Dead #127 1st printing at a local Vintage Stock for $2.69 each.
  16. MCS gives the grade on the books they receive. They are very strict too. Yeah MCS gives the grade, I had it as a 9.2 but I wasn't sure how CGC would hit the misalignment. It failed a 9.6 prescreen but I thought 7.5 was pretty brutal. And that's exactly why I don't send books to them. Strict is good but I think they're too strict.
  17. I mentioned finding this a while ago in the double cover thread I believe but had never taken any pictures of it. Here's a Thor #411 with one outside cover but with DOUBLE interior pages. The complete book is in there twice - one on the outside 32 pages, one on the inside 32 pages. But just one cover on the outside of the whole book. What amazes me is that the standard staples held all 64 pages together. Probably one of the strangest things I've ever seen in my comic collecting.
  18. Picked this up for a good price off of Comic Connect. Trying for a complete slabbed set in 9.2 to 9.6. This is #13 out of 19. All that's left is to pick up are #2,9,11,14,17 and 19. Slowly but surely (but for some reason these don't come up for sale too often).
  19. I would also say get any copies you can. I ordered ten each of the Francavilla, Hughes and Perez covers on Midtown's website before they cut it to one per customer. Now I wish I had bought more. Still thirty copies should not be bad, now I just hope that they do not arrive beat up. I usually do alright with Midtown so hopefully this will be another case of that versus the few times where my stuff comes with smashed corners. Cover C (Francavilla) seems to be the only one available on the Midtown website right now.
