  1. Nothing like getting a flight of stairs ripped out from underneath you by some maniac in his blue and red PJs. :: No joke - I really almost felt sorry for Doc Ock's henchmen in that arc, Spidey beats the Holy-Hell out of them.
  2. I just picked up an ASM #33 CGC 9.0 OW-W on 10/8 for $299.99.
  3. That's insane...some people just have too much money... Good for you I guess
  4. Only two more to go for my AF #15 - ASM #10 run: The #1 isn't mine and my bro won't sell it to me no matter how much I have pleaded I couldn't resist putting it next to the ones in my collect for the pic. I couldn't afford it anyway...
  5. Why? First Romita, Classic Cover, Norman Osborn exposed, etc...
  6. Only two more to go (really three but tha #1 is getting further out of reach every day )... I had to "settle" for a 6.5 but it is a very nice copy for the grade with good centering. Already had these:
  7. Here you are: This one even has bonus pencil marks My favorite part of this whole book is this panel where Doc Ock forgets what universe he is in momentarily:
  8. eBay is an unpredictable beast at best. I was looking over the ASM #1 coverless and it went for more than I paid a mere 6 months or so ago... ASM #1 Coverless Who collects the information provided for GPA?
  9. I respectively disagree. This is the back cover from a 9.4 ASM #1 that clearly shows the entire black line: Unless you are referring to the small "tick" mark in the middle
  10. That is one clean looking book. When you upgrade your ASM #3 - you totally have to contact me to unload your 6.0
  11. The real "tell" here besides the same mis-cut of the FC is the matching color breaking "creases" in the blue portion of the BC through the words morning and store as well as the line in the white above the guys head: That is definitely Matt's ASM #1 cover. What is really disappointing here is the fact that someone is trying to pass this off as the real thing...
  12. Two Hulk #1's & two FF #1's - original interiors w/ recreated covers and a few others: I have several other books like this including an Amazing Fantasy #15, 2 ASM #1's and a complete set of ASM's #2 - #38.
  13. Haven't posted in this thread for a while. Here are a few of my recent acquisitions: I am trying to get a 1 - 10 set in 6.0 shape in OW or better pages...
  14. Just got this sweet #77 CGC 9.2 in the mail today: Picked it up as a gift for a friend of mine at work. Can't wait to give it to him tomorrow.
  15. What is that behind those comics? I see thing hands, a radio antena and what looks to be a Green-skinned version of Incrdible Hulk #1 cover?
  16. Note to self "sick pet discussion=thread killer".
  17. I had this one in my collection for a while but I was waiting to read it until I had finished my run of 200 to 300. I read it last night and I must say I actually shed a tear. This is a touching story to say the least - very good story telling. Point Five had asked the question 'Top Five Stories', thats why I included issue 248. Issue 248 had one of the great Spidey stories of all time. It didn't introduce an earth shaking villian or change the direction of Spiderman's life, it just made us tough, uber macho comic collectors shed a tear. Big cry baby Fedoraman. Just kidding mate.
  18. I had this one in my collection for a while but I was waiting to read it until I had finished my run of 200 to 300. I read it last night and I must say I actually shed a tear. This is a touching story to say the least - very good story telling. I think the best part was the fact that Spidey was illustrated in the "Ditko" style. Why don't more artists imitate his quirky style, I love it...
  19. Yeah, piper could really use a last minute birthday present for himself
  20. Correct - I can make nearly any cover - PM me if you have any special requests. I have most of the SilverAge Marvel and DC keys - just ask.
  21. Good for you CopperComics! May just be the sour grapes talking here but with the ding in the upper LC, the crease above the Lizards tail on the spine and the folds/dings on the lower edge of the FC - there is no way in friggin' hell that should have come back as a 9.6... I wish I could get that kind of a gift grade when I submit stuff. Any way I can find out who the graders were and request them to look over my stuff when I submit it???
