I think it looks like a 7th grader drew this at the last minute before the assignment was due in art class... And what the hell is that supposed to be sticking out of the head? I have never been a fan of his artwork, and I agree you got a "leave me alone" sketch.

I love that you can see the "L" in Learn on the bottom line of text. 9.6 is awesome enough, but that centering earns it an extra and a . And the comics authority stamp is not cut off - this is a real beauty!

What does a 9.0 restored copy run these days?

OK, let me see if I got this right: mt1000 makes and offer to Yannis for a 'Tec #37 $1600. mt1000 sends a down payment via Paypal and even tries to meet with Yannis to pay off the remainder. Yannis drags his feet for a couple of weeks, then contacts mt1000 and says the book has more defects than he thought, so he is refunding the down payment which will take several days as he has moved it out of his Paypal account. In the meantime, Bat Man shows the pic of said 'Tec #37 in his sig line and there is posted evidence that he wanted the book from Yannis' earlier sales thread. The speculation is that Yannis sold the book to Bat Man for whatever reason instead of mt1000 even though a deal was already struck. At this point, Yannis seems like he reneged on a done deal. BOO!!!!!

My thoughts exactly, some guys on here would put the top detectives at New scotland yard and the FBI to shame. Frankenstein thinks different. His brain is Abby Normal. That's classic! On a related note - Mel Brooks is finally getting a star on the Hollywood walk of fame.

Cool...what grade? It looked like a 9.0 copy and possibly has white pages. It looked awesome when I saw,so I had to get it The owner said that the back cover has bone white pages. I hope to pay it off by next week. The fact that its a key book makes even more awesome Nice! Spidey's is my second love. I also collect the lower grades and hope to complete the run someday. (thumbs u Yeah,When I saw the book I had to get it Yeah, I love the splash page title: "AND DEATH SHALL COME!" I find myself chanting many of the Marvel splash verses in the shower... Oh man - I love Squidbillies! My wife thinks I am insane.

After my sales to fund the #1 purchase, I have a few more holes to fill. I need 11 - 18 in 7.0, 20 - 27 & 29 in 8.0, 36 & 37 in 9.0 for right now to finish my Ditko slabs. I would like to get a nice #50 CGC 9.0, but I am almost afraid to do it as then I would be compelled to fill slabs around it... I think I should stick to raw readers from 40 & up except the few keys I have: Amazing Spider-Man 100 9.0 Amazing Spider-Man 121 9.0 (I need to find a #122 9.0 to finish this two parter) Amazing Spider-Man 129 9.0 Amazing Spider-Man 194 9.0 Amazing Spider-Man 238 9.8 Amazing Spider-Man 252 9.8 Amazing Spider-Man 300 9.8 In any case, I don't feel the need to make any big purchases for a few months at least. The chase for the #1 really burned me out.

So: ASM #7 has 0: 9.8's - 4: 9.6's - 13: 9.4's - 18 total books? Since when does 4 + 13 = 18? Shouldn't that read 17?

Even though it is the Doc Doom cross-over, I always thought the cover was rather clunky...and the first Spider-Man that didn't introduce a new villian (recognizing that #1 had an FF cameo as well)...for me it is the weakest of the covers/issues 1-10...1 is weak too, and perhaps some would list #7 as being the 2nd Vulture, but 5 will always be the weakest to me... BLASPHEMY I TELLS YA!!!!! This cover is one of my favorites for this very reason - Spidey looks like such a dork, w/ Doom cutting his web-line. Let's face it - Ditko had a style all his own and those quirky characters drawn with the pie in the face expressions are part of the appeal. Compared to today's artists, they look very amatuer, but in my mind they are timeless.

I would love it if mine would come back in that 6.0 grade...I am really hesitant to submit it for fear of a lower grade
