  1. That was a pile of books, across all printings, so I'm sure that had something to do it with it; even with all this demand lately, Turtles are still pretty niche in the grand scheme, so only so much can be absorbed at once.
  2. Do we know print numbers for these versions?
  3. When that 9.8 was originally listed it was at 125K...now it's at 150. Better hurry up if you're interested, at this rate itll be 175 by tomorrow!
  4. Nice! I want get one in that same grade as well. And also a 5th print. Just to have 2nd - 5th in 9.6 condition.
  5. I just knew it had to be a VERY good reason for you to part with this gem. Good luck with that "real world" purchase!
  6. I owned that cover years ago. Was very cool in hand, just at these actual Gooks are. When it sold at auction, it went for a fraction of what it moved at privately...
  7. How freaking cool is this?! Gotta get me one of these licensing pieces one day. Super congrats!
  8. So a little extra on those Golds from back in the day... Those 2 were BINs that were snapped up instantly by the same buyer ( a member here actually). I remember it was on a weekend in the morning. The seller accidentally relisted one of them shortly after...which I hit the BIN on not even knowing about the previous 2 BINs. Woohoo I won! Umm, not quite...so about a half hour later I get a phone call from the seller (ebay used to allow that sort of thing back in the day) explaining what she did and that she would be refunding. At that time, I actually already owned a separate Gold so no huge deal but would have been cool.
  9. New art day! Pumped to have a video game cover in the collection...painted on canvas like a true masterpiece! And on the toy front, recently welcomed these two troublemakers into the collection as well.
  10. Yes, Kevin is actually flying down to Sarasota today!
  11. Wow. So a Hulk 181 9.8 hit 60K recently... I had no idea that the demand for Cerebus would hit such levels.
  12. A couple more 10 Backs into the collection... 5 down and 5 to go!
  13. It's an interesting discussion but I don't think you could get a 4.0 for 8K...I have a friend who recently bought a 5.5 for 13K. I personally was in that position myself recently, of 2nd 9.6 or a 1st, until I was able to trade a page of art for a 1st print. I'd owned a couple in the past but had sold them through the years and kept my 2nd print SS 9.6. When I decided to get a 1st, I realized there was no way I could covert my 2nd print into anything of the kind of grade I'd want in a 1st. Low grades of these are scarce as is but that all black cover would likely REALLY accentuate the flaws in a low grade. So for me, I was simply going to keep my 2nd print 9.6 as it looks great vs maybe being able to get a 2.5. Fortunately, it all turned into a moot point when I was able to trade art for the kind of book I wanted! I still have the 2nd print, and I'm still not sure if I'm keeping it or not at this point.
  14. Sooo HA has a 8.5, 9.0, 9.2, 9.6 auctions all coming up same day in March. And then there's in Clink and Comic Connect. That's a whole pile at once...
  15. Well, roughly a month later that same copy now has a BIN of 55K.
  16. Seth began talks to have his production company get involved with an animated movie... But nothing has come of it
  17. Actually not a Gold, but a #1st print. Though itd be cool to own a Gold again (or Gooks) I'm really content with simply having owned them all at some point. I can still remember when I finally had them all. I was supper happy! And then...I was like well, what next? I've reached the top of mountain. And thus began my Great Dismemberment and Golds went here, Gooks went there, 1st prints over there, my Raph 98 SS to Eric (), my at the time sole census #11 9.8...on and on. Funneling all my nickels into artwork and never really looked back. Fast forward a few years back and I'm thinking I should get a 1st print again. I look into it, and WHAT? A 6.0 was now a $3,000 book?! And nothing against 6s, just not what I wanted. So bury my head in the sand and keep dealing with art. Then a friend last weekish tells me he just picked up a 5.5...for 13K. And now I know I've officially screwed up as there was just no way I could get a 1st print again in the grade I'd want. I owed a 7.0 originally years ago. Upgraded that to a 9.0 which I loved, but sold. Was hoping to get a 9.0 again but all I had was art and a 2nd print SS 9.6. Which I liked alot and helped ease the pain. But we all know thats not the same. But then the stars aligned and I actually did manage to convert art into a first print. Just came in, let me dig up a photo of my improved spread.
