  1. Right. Strange angle... completely obfuscated the writing. As compared to: Yes, it is a strange angle that hides the writing. Not all have scanners suitable for CGC books. Many listings ( here, ebay , CL etc..) are done with pics as scanned images are just not possible. So this guy who sells hundreds or thousands of books posts pictures at odd angles because he can't afford a scanner? Or is it because it is easier to lie about the grade and hide the imperfections with crappy pictures? He most probably has a scanner. Why should he go out a buy another one? I own a scanner. Should I buy another one just to provide nicer CGC scans because mine doesn't ? Bid if you will, based on his scans. From what I can tell, he is not forcing anyone to.. Still having a tough time with the odd angle thing ... Maybe he needs a course in professional photography. You do realize that book is raw right? What does a scanner being able to do CGC scans have to do with this book. The guy is a scammer, not sure why you are insisting on defending him and his practices.

  4. Each person's grading is subjective. Yee's VG- is this guy's 6.5. He is giving the grade he thinks the book deserves ( I am giving this comic a grade of Fine+ 6.5 ). It's up to buyers to judge from the scans if they agree/disagree with said grade. He has provided quite a few. Not sure about the effort made at concealing the signature either. Sig on the book is faint to start, but pic #2 that he provided evidences it. He has disclosed the resto. Don't want to play devil's advocate. This guy is probably the piece of everyone paints him to be. Nonetheless, for this particular auction I just don't see it I'm just providing information...Harley Yee is a pretty respected grader/dealer...I've bought raw books off Harley at Cons and in all cases the books sent to CGC came back as either spot-on grade-wise or within 0.5 grade. You wanna pay 6.5 price that is certainly your choice. The handwriting on the cover is pretty subtle and could easily be missed by many bidders...of course when they got the book in hand they could be surprised/unhappy and look to return the book but what a hassle. And come on...if anyone tried to not fully point out the handwriting on the cover on a sale here on the boards they'd be run out so fast it'd be like the Flash on speed... Not so sure about that one. I've seen a fair number of listings in sales threads that "let the scan do the talking," which is to say they did not point out writing, apparently rusty staples, tears, etc. that might have been overlooked by a bidder who failed to scrutinize the scan closely enough. Not saying it's necessarily a shady practice, but it happens and people are rarely called out for it -- unless they are newbies. Of course most sellers here that would do that provide good scans (like the original seller of the book did) not pictures taken from strange angles designed to hide imperfections.
  5. I was wondering if there was a thread about MP. I finally got around to reading the first 5 issues this week and think it is great; it and Fatale are my 2 favorite books right now.
  6. There has always only been one way to get off the list, placate the aggrieved party.
  7. The pungent vinegary odor is still evident even with the name change. I can't remember why I put him on Ignore, but it has borne itself out. So what facts were not mentioned in the discussion in Moderns? Short version please. between what is here in the probation thread, and his failed WTB thread, the evidence points that he was caught in a few lies and should be on the probation list (thumbs u His current lie is "I wasn't even listing to sell the book, I was asking for a "please grade me" and then the person blind sided and asked what I would sell it for. I said I had to pay $675 for it and could not sell it for any less." Quite a different story than what he really wrote, "If you decide you want for $675 let me know. I would have to charge $25 to ship it registered mail so I can insure and track it all the way to you."
  8. Unless you're a total moron, you should never offer something to more than one person at a time in a PM anyway! Really ? I don't see a problem with offering to multiple potential buyers. That's basically what a sales thread does anyways. Not really the same at all; the only way you should offer to multiple people in PM (at least in the form of "if you pay this amount it is yours") is if you include the fact that you are doing so and that the first one to accept will get it.
  9. "On principal", now that's funny. I'm sure everyone is crushed they won't have the opportunity to deal with someone that backs out of deals then cries about being persecuted.
  10. Except that isn't what happened, you PMd "If you decide you want for $675 let me know. I would have to charge $25 to ship it registered mail so I can insure and track it all the way to you." Brilliant retort, I'm sure you've run many successful businesses with that level of intelligence.

  12. Right, so instead of giving some comics to his kids next time he sees them (which he obviously does since you say so right here) he offers to mail you some if you pay for shipping and you thank him later in the thread for getting them some comics. Sounds like your BS story is completely unraveled since you can't keep all of your shill accounts straight. If you HAVE TO KNOW my boys go to his house ONCE A MONTH since I left HIM!!! So, are you verifying that WDMARVELCOMICS and walkingdeadcomics are the same person? AND you made this account after you ex was put on the probation list to do what? Get comics for your kids? No I am not confirming anything. I set my account up back in July 2011 as you can see. If you aren't confirming anything, then how do you know the details of Kong's transaction? If WDMARVELCOMICS and walkingdeadcomics aren't the same person how do you know the details about Kong's transactions with WDMARVELCOMICS. you already admitted walkingdeadcomics is your ex, yet you know details of a former board member's transaction with Kong. I CALL B.S.! D.A. its all in this probation thread Um except you specifically wrote " I remember your transaction with my ex..." which means WDMARVELCOMICS is your ex and since you already confirmed that walkingdeadcomics is your ex you did, in fact, confirm they are the same person. It's hard keeping lies straight isn't it?
