  1. Nice books ...................can you tell what the pages look like - shiny/glossy or matt? Thanks.
  2. .....obviously don't air the books indoors, but point taken - get rid.
  3. .....really all you can do is shake out any particles from the books and then air them. Air them for a few days or even a couple of weeks. Fan the pages if you can. If after that you still get a reaction, then bin them. Your health is too important.
  4. My slabs go into crystal clear polyprop resealable bags......sorted.
  5. CGC label states - "Proper storage is essential to the preservation of your comic book. Extremes in light, temperature. moisture, vibration, temperature changes and other environmental changes can contribute to the deterioration of a comic book sealed in a CGC holder. For maximum protection, keep your CGC certified comic books in an immobile, dark, temperature and humidity controlled area."
  6. If I was in your position (and I'm never likely to be) there is absolutely no way I would be communicating with the seller through ebay....
  7. +1......also, my eyesight seems stronger in the morning
  8. If your bags are not crystal clear I would send them back and get a refund. Sounds like a dodgy batch. Or buy elsewhere.
  9. I picked up the first lot of Firestorm books back in the day. I thought they were great.....
  10. Also, I'd never wear my Christmas Party jumper to a comic con!..........
  11. Sadly no, it's a generic photo, the only one I could find of Westmonster Halls. If you look closely you can see New Mutants for sale so the photo may be 1983?....
  12. ........my first also (the only one at the time?). Went in 1980 or 1981? Pretty amazing back then as I'd never seen US comic back issues before. I'd just started work and so had a bit of pocket money, mainly on the lookout for Adams and Wrightson books which I'd remembered from the late 60's early 70's. It was here I met Martin Kravetz (Mega City Comics) who set me up with my first subscription. I think he was working from home back then. I also remember picking up an EC Library as they'd just come out. I still have a few of the books I picked up that day - as below,
  13. I used to own a CGC 10 book, but I accidentally breathed on it and it turned into a 9.9
  14. The trailer was soo darkly lit TBH I could'nt tell WTH was going on.
  15. This brings back some memories. I was at College and at lunchtine decided to wander into town. Went into a newsagent (or paper shop) and spotted this book on the shelf. I'd just got back into collecting and recognised the Miller name on the artwork. I paid 15p for the book......................
  16. Awesome!.......you seem to have most of the titles.....
  17. I guess I'm more of a horror fan but would otherwise agree with your comments. I've always loved the humour that went along with the horror. I definitely acknowledge Kurtzman's brilliance. Thanks for posting!
