  1. Back in the day, Skateboarder was my fave magazine. At school we would pore over the photos, trying to work out how to do the latest tricks. The Stecyk 'Dogtown' articles were a highlight and photo techniques such as fish-eye and motor-drive were in their infancy. So over the last five years I've been trying to complete my collection (mostly VF+) but still require issue no.1 and the photo annual. The Jim Muir poster is from Skateboard World magazine and the one I had on my bedroom wall - to remind me of, what decent weather looked like!
  2. Watched Dune for the first time last night, at home on blu ray. Agree with most of the comments about Dune being visually stunning and desrving of at least a couple of oscars. I thought the film was faithful to the book and had my attention for the full 2-1/2 hours. Two minor quibbles. I had to turn the sound down and watch with sub-titles and some of Paul's dreams (or visions) were a tad tedious (at times I thought I was watching a remake of Star Wars). Looking forward to part 2.
  3. Thinking of all the cool books I could buy with $6k......... instead of a tatty page from a beater book.......
  4. That's purely hypothetical and a completely unlikely scenario....
  5. .......it's not a complete book, so to me - worthless
  6. One of the first US Marvels I remember buying (with my own money) was IM 50. I always remembered the awesome and dramatic splash page as well..................
  7. You've got nothing to be disappointed about. It's a nice book.
  8. I'm afraid you simply don't seem to have any idea how the real world works.......pure hyperbole.
  9. If you're not completely happy with the book - just return it and buy something else....
  10. .......I'm getting 500 error constantly
  11. Maybe we should be calling them 'Bitcomics' or 'Cryptocomics', in that they don't really exist - but are just created to distort market value......
  12. It seems evident to me that those USPS boxes are simply not up to the job. I've never sent out a slab in anything other than a double corrugated box, and I'm receiving more and more books from US dealers in said boxes, which usefully I can reuse to ship out. I'm sorry to the OP for his disappointment..........
  13. My collection consists of Silver/Bronze & Modern. All my books go in Standard or Silver/Gold bags........no exceptions.
  14. ...... *standard payment processing fees also apply.
  15. I've been incorrectly charged import duty twice and it's difficult and time consuming to get a refund. The Seller (usually in the US) needs to clearly write 'comic book' or 'printed material' on the package when shipping. Anytime I've bought from MCS I've been surprised and delighted with both the shipping cost and speed of delivery. That is why I think they are awesome! Good luck.
  16. In my experience, MCS provide by far the cheapest shipping to the UK. There are no import duties on comic books.
