The Children and Young Persons (Harmful Publications) Act 1955 is an Act of Parliament of the United Kingdom Parliament that prohibited comics that were thought to be harmful to children. The Act was introduced by the Home Secretary, Gwilym Lloyd George (a son of former prime minister David Lloyd George), in response to the publication of horror comics which had become popular by the 1950s.[1] This issue was drawn to the attention of Parliament by the National Union of Teachers and by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Geoffrey Fisher.

Apologies for venting, but this is new for me. Last month I won and promptly paid for two slabs on ebay. The first a BIN, the second an auction win. On both occasions and after a couple of days, both transactions were cancelled and my money refunded, The BIN seller even admitted that he set the price too low and couldn't possibly sell to me. I've heard of buyer's remorse, but is seller's remorse 'a thing' now?
Obviously I can walk away with my funds intact but my underlying concern is whether there is a growing trend for both seller's and buyer's not to honour their ebay transactions? Or, have I just been lucky for the last fifteen years or so?
If there's a specific thread for this topic, please advise, thanks

Technically, it's not what should be referred to as a first appearance or a cameo. It's an Advertisement.

I agree with CGC on this one. Hulk 180, Wolverine first appearance but not involved in story so cameo. Hulk 181 Wolverine first full appearance.

.....currently in the confused phase, due to pressing, scs and wacko prices.

Also, I found his writing style and vocabulary to be quite elitist and condescending
.......I agree. The implied controversy is overblown IMHO. Oh the irony, if Joaquin Phoenix were to win Best Actor at the next Oscars.

Before I joined the boards, I couldn't understand why anyone would buy a comic book for more than $20.
Now, I can't understand why anyone would buy a comic book for less.

For some reason, I have a thing against 9.2s.
I love early Bronze Age 9.2's High grade book without the nosebleed price.

No Horror Comics allowed in the UK?
in Comics General

I do have a faint recollection that in the early 1970's I could not buy horror magazines. Maybe it would have been at the shopkeepers discretion?
