Who's the boardmember? The books were signed for on Thursday-- The PM I sent last night was read. I sent another tonight. I am only mildly worried. It was my first sale on this board (in fact the first books I have sold since 1984), and was not sure what to expect.I agree that it was unwise to ship before payment, but I also could tell that there was a little concern about new members.I thought selling to someone that had been on the board for a long time would let people know that I was for real.
Thanks again -- I really like it here
Don't kiss and tell.

Seriously though, use this as a lesson to yourself, and I hope others will too. I would send something out before payment if it was someone I'd dealt with well more than once before maybe. But, it would have to be someone I'd had a long dialog with, and I probably wouldn't send anything big. I wouldn't expect that in return either.
On the few times someone has sent my books ahead of time, I've tried to put them to the front burner and pay quickly. I can't speak for anyone else, but that is just me.

Wow, you ain't kiddin'.

HUGE Kudos to AlexH. A small selection of SS slabs just showed up at my door yesterday. Well packaged, and Alex is amazing to work with.

Got this from October (as a 8.5) and pirate got it SS'ed for me by Nick Cardy. Thanks Anthony and Andy you Rule!!!
That might be one of the most beautiful SS books I've ever seen.
(PS - October, if you have any 8.5's of this era in Flash or DC War that you will sell on the cheap that look this nice, let me know. )

:thumb:Yeah, sorry, I should have said. I do like the B&W variant alot as I never even saw one in person back then.Originally Posted By: thecollectorWho is that book signed by. I have hundreds of Sigs and I don't recongize that one. As far as sam keith goes I don't think there are any SS books signed by him. It's William Messner-Loebs signature.

And, I really didn't think I'd ever buy a 90's Image book anytime soon, but these were a great deal, and the signer had alot to do with one of my all-time favorite characters.
And, well, when I was in college, this was one of those books you could never find and I always wanted because I loved Sam Keith's work. So, it's a bit of a reach for my lost youth. ::
BTW - Anyone got any reasonably priced Sam Keith SS to let go of?

Major kudos to jonjesper on this one. It's now among my favorites of anything in my collection....
All those legends...
All those legends........
I wonder how many books like this exist.

Major kudos to jonjesper for what I can only describe as a dream CGC SS book for me. Eight sigs from some of the big heavies in the industry, and he as always was a pleasure to work with.

Left Sharon hangin'?

Kudos to Mr.Diggler for an awesome copy of Fables #2, and some Flash books I needed.
-
MAJOR kudos to TylerH for sending me some sweet old school comic cards from the e early days of Wizard and the early Marvel cards which was back when I liked them
They totally brought me back to a simpler time.

Kudos to Ryan (kimik) for an excellent and well packed batch of Valiant goodies... I got to mark 3 tough books off my list.
Thanks again, Ryan!

Just have Arch place a small notation by their avitar. Probation strike 1 ect.The guy is notoriously slow and has been on and off the probation list more than once. He certainly has a pattern and practice exactly as you have described your transaction. What I don't understand is why people keep coming back to buy his Krap . . . It's not like he has the GOODS or anything - he's a misguided modern monger with bad customer service and belongs on eBay - not here.
If you would keep people on the list longer than immediately after they rectify a problem, perhaps it would be easier for people to tell that someone's been on probation before.
I think that's the most fair suggestion I've seen so far.

Hmm just read over the last few pages here, perhaps all the sellers should consider adding scanning and posting fees.
Darn, I chipped a nail...manicurist fees
I know this little Korean lady that could hook you up, Sharon!!!

Wow, i've been screwing up because I normally add the 3% when I pay with paypal.
I'm sure the sellers appreciate that.
Make sure you add that 3% to the $500 payment you were going to make to me.
-
I'd say expepecting paypal fees without it being mentioned up front isn't kewl. And, I can dig being leary of a new member having a PO not registered to them, and changing things like this.
Dropping F-bombs though, not cool. But, I'd be pretty upset by this scenario too.

Just got this from sckao, thank you so much, Shin!!!!
One of the prides of my collection. Highest and only on census!!
Valiant? People still actually buy Valiant?

:bugeyed: Wow, some of those Death Rattle books are hard enough to get in 9.8.

Kudos to blue808 for being so good to work with, and being the first to buy from my last sales thread!
Ahhh, modesty, it's so good for the soul.

Kudos to pirate for a sweet SS book at a sweet price!
Got a nice Kubert signed book. Signed by father and son. Funny thing is that I wanted him to do one for me, and couldn't get it to him in time, but I'm happy I got this one as the book I wanted to send wouldn't have looked as good.

Hopefully this can get resolved, and you won't let it keep you from working on the forum. For every upleasant situation on here, there are a hundred that aren't.
