Were you there when Ryan and I talked face to face at Heroes?

It amazes me how everyone gangs up on one person here.

I made a mistake with Ryan. We talked. And we're good. I scored a solid raw, got a 9.8 and I'm trying to tap into the market.

Believe it or not, the back of these were extremely dirty. If you look at the current sales on e-bay most are nowhere near 9.8s for the raw copies.

So you mean to tell me that the entire RRP market will be 9.8s

Be realistic here and quit tinkering.

considering blue labels go from 350 - 450 - hickmans signature does not add $150 in value.

People are so quick to judge, not considering that the 9.8 run of these are slim.

What about a 9.8 yellow?

Got my rrp signed yesterday. Easy 9.6

Also three of my Forbidden Planet variants which I hope one or all hit 9.9 they're that solid folks.

Here's the breakdown of East of West.

EoW 1 cgc 9.8 blue average $50

Ghost Variant SS $90

Forbidden Planet 9.8 blue $120

RRP raw $200 cgc 9.8 $600

This is just within the last week based on cgc boards sales, and ebay

I think that the rrp ss will probably go for as high as $700 and then back down to $300 - $400..because of the dealers and members holding out for the Hickman signing.

But some of these are SO awesome and obviously took a long time to complete...

 

Can you guys offer any advice? How do you get a wonderful piece like this? Just go to a con? Commission an artist?

There are different ways to get a sketch cover collection going imo

 

1. You can participate in the many sketch opportunities offered here on the boards

 

2. Conventions are great as well, but I suggest you contact said artist first to set things up

 

3. EBay is another option as well

Seems like the retailers are dumping them to make$$..which means it's a plus for collectors.

I saw one on the bay at $150 I think it was, but it had a very noticeable spine tick near the top staple so i passed on it. Hoping I can find a NM/M if I am patient, but patience is not my forte!

Seller dropped it to $124

So you don't need one then?
