I purchased a few books off eBay, that I submitted and they came back restored. I admit this was my own fault. The seller claims his grades are accurate, I'm talking 9.0+ when graded restored books came back 7.0 - 8.0. he is defending his grade by saying that if you submit a book without disclosing the restoration CGC frowns upon it and penalizes you by grading lower for it? Is this true? Or is this guy just taking every route to cover himself?

Hi There, I attached a picture below for some books I'd like to use your reholder service because of a dislike with inevitable problems from age/chance.., i.e. newton ring, faded/foggy/ misaligned label.. I am concerned about maintaining the grade. I have heard so many sides on this. Grading was more strict back then, grading is more strict now, etc...I am sure you know them all...if you don't....don't google it - your head will spin! haha I 100% appreciate the process of rechecking the books for switches, resto, etc..(especially with what just happened) but...if these books have been in there cases since they were graded, and god forbid, there are no mailing issues or employees spilling coffee on them(please, please, no!) They should, in no doubt come back the same grade, just in a new shiny, more tamper proof label...correct? The loss would be abundant on these few if they were dropped in grade and my collection would never forgive me!! Please advice, please, calm? ha Your time and answers are much appreciated! Thank you!

Inside is white as can be, super crisp.. Feels as if it was never opened. Been looking forever, have bought probably 30 of these hoping to find one that will score mid 9s to send in... Have I found it?!

Beautiful book with an imperfection/mistake/eyesoar....call it what you will but its in the worst place, the cover.... Would grade nicely...without... Not even sure how to grade with the scrape and the tear - I just can't unsee it to keep in my collection. Otherwise very solid book. It appears to be holding in a piece or an attempt to take it off has pulled some of the cover up. It appears small but not worth touching(for me) So If you know restoration, want to send it in for a qualified label or just doesn't bother you then this book is for you. Take a close look it is beautiful otherwise! Because of this tape issue though this is sold with no Returns/Refunds!. Ask any questions you must, I am more than willing to answer as best I can as well as take as many pictures as one might need. Such a bummer on this beauty!
