  1. Movies dictated the vintage comics market for just about the entire history of the Boards. It was a smart move hanging this subforum next to CG. Now that the movies blow, dumping this lot down at the bottom, in the dregs, away from the reach of search spiders, is a shrewd move.
  2. Here's what happened. Everything was happy for years & years. This subforum was the best clearinghouse online for easy-to-find genre movie news updates. It also had sharp industry discussion next to movie reviews. Bosco ran a tight ship. For years & years we discussed Captain Marvel, Brie Larson, the MCU, Disney, the contemporary creative focus on 'S', and all other matters related to genre films, from 'splosions to capes, with only the occasional, fairly rare, non-genre product entering the forums. We discussed She-Hulk. We considered Black Widow. We wondered at Barbie. When non-genre products showed-up, I'm not sure who cared because public complaints weren't easily found. Then some 30 days ago, things suddenly changed. Now things are unhappy.
  3. And after getting to that after so many years of really hard work, we stopped working.
  4. Terrible news. Prayers for all. Thank you for all your posts @Bird.
  5. A few of these pics declare the cosplayer's gender a bit too loudly for a family friendly comic book forum.
  6. weird airbrushed soft molded plastic armor with little hexagonal patterns in the fabric bits. CGI surfboard.
  7. It was a really strange show, both at the time & in retrospect. It's hard to sort out today if it was the show that was great or the timing. There's some kinda ratio. Has to be. After that, it was in fact great but ended in a terrible muddle. It is a really strange qualified greatness. Agatha, for example, was A+, but at the show's conclusion, I had decided that I thought the actress was A+, not Agatha. How'd that happen? Quicksilver was great. Boner wasn't. Boner was a disaster. American Horror Story kid was just fine, if not great. Say what? Additionally, it was weird like the Twilight Zone, which is usually a plus, but in this case it damn well seemed like the Disney+ audience at home were the folks who'd landed there. The F. It was the strangest tv bait&switch I can think of. Loved it. I wonder what it'll be like on a second viewing in the midterm future.
  8. This show was great by accident. It wasn't the show that was great. It was the enthusiasm for the show that was great. There was so much about it that was great but none of it held together in the end. It was a highly entertaining and highly welcome confusion. Great timing!
  9. What does this mean? Aren't they already merged or shared?
  10. He is the top genre actor of the past couple years. A great choice but isn't he too old - too old for his costars, too old to play Reed for the next 15 years?
  11. Thanks for the posts, folks. I'd put these books away. I was thinking I'd sell them at MegaCon 2024. I'll keep the offer open until this thread falls off page 1.
  12. Your essays are fun and tell us a lot about you. Thanks for posting them! Boredom has been a theme, it seems to me. Perhaps a way out of your boredom is BUD LIGHT, not the MCU or Perry Mason?
  13. Please, let me talk about me & my marriages in the new MARVELS thread. ty
  14. "Fatigue" is trying to find posts about MARVELS in this thread. Hey bosco, do we need a second MARVELS thread? It could be called something like The MARVELS thread about MARVELS.
