  1. I'm pleased with the confirmed cast so far. Pedro will make a good Reed. I was concerned they might cast him as DOOM. IMO, DOOM should never be maskless. Therefore a formidable voice actor needs to play him. I know whispery acting is popular right now. Pedro is a great whisperer - so is Javier Bardem - but my preference is something more like this for DOOM [& Galactus]:
  2. This is too strong a claim. I wanted to focus on the aging fanboy bit & made it sound like the She-Hulk message was the single, direct cause of the MCU collapse. That message was part of the collapse to be sure but good old fashioned poor storytelling has been the much greater part, I reckon.
  3. I don't know about expanding demographics but I can plainly see the expansion of what's currently celebrated as good old family entertainment: X-rated sex acts.
  4. This business about expanding demographics so as to outlive the aging fanboy is silly. From IM1 to Endgame, Disney's MCU demographic expanded so far that it included all demographics. That was a remarkable achievement. Post EG, we've all observed Disney intentionally demean and reject the aging fanboy demographic that created the original possibility for IM1's success. The result has been a destruction of their remarkable achievement. Today, no demographic wants to go to a Marvel movie.
  5. I'm sorry I missed this but I had Gasparilla plans well in place before they announced OAX [not to mention a booked MegaCon hotel for next weekend - it's never a good idea to visit Orlando more than once a year or so]. Please post more pics! Any info on OAX 2 location & dates, yet?
  6. It was a great date night at the movies. Does that mean Oscar? Idgaf!
  7. I can't think of a reason why anyone should watch it. It's about 5hrs long.
  8. Taken in its best light, ECHO was a well acted light fare ensemble character-driven dramedy which explores Choctaw mysticism & culture through the centuries with some elaborate fight sequences thrown in. In this best light, one should consider the MCU characters, DD &, much more importantly, Kingpin, as being in no way related to the MCU we know, as I think Transplant kinda said. Think of this Fisk as some other Fisk & it should help you get through ECHO. Some scotch might help too. I needed some & I think it helped.
  9. Should finish this tonight. Question: where did all the skating rink bodies go?
  10. You might want to strap on. Valkyrie This means, sell your Marvels, sell them quickly.
  11. Nor do girls want you to destroy the MCU in their name because that's a major male-sex-organ move.
  12. Over the holidays, my lady friend and I read my OO Bendis DD run [which I shipped off to GBD @dover , gratis] & watched the 3 NF DD shows, which I'd seen before. We liked HAWKEYE, mostly because of Kate Bishop & the show's solid pacing. We watched E1&2 of ECHO last night & came away with positive feels. For those wondering, ECHO featured plenty of the grim&gritty bloodshed we're* all so fond of, despite being Disney. *I'm expert at going to the little boy's room or scrolling my SCHWAB account during fight scenes & action sequences. So, my report on the so very important violence is secondhand, courtesy of my lady friend.
  13. If Gosling was Hollywood's top leading man of 2023 then Pascal has been Hollywood's top genre actor for the past few years. He is a good Richards even if too old for a 15 yr franchise. I don't think he's a good Galactus or DOOM. Those characters require a formidable voice actor. Pascal's Mandalorian trashcan whisper isn't gonna do it.
  14. It is difficult for me to recommend BES now that I've finished S1. 1. I'm no good with gore & this show revels in it. It trades in all the explicit blood-tripe. 2. The budget appears to have fallen out of the bottom of the krapperr in the last three episodes. The extraordinarily good animation of the other episodes falls away. It's strange. There's much to like about S1E1 & the first few subsequent episodes. I liked the samurai & Ringo all the way through & that says much for such shows.
