  1. What does it look like with subgrades? Holy hell thats going to be a mess.
  2. Congrats and welcome to the land of "You've chosen to ignore content by ne1seenmykeys". It's nice here.
  3. If the card grades a 10, how much is it worth? IMHO that card should not be graded until Trea makes the hall of fame. To each his own I guess, if its for pc, then go ahead. but it sounds like you want to grade quantity and you will probably lose money.
  4. n Not only will I not grade with them, I won't ever purchase another SGC slab again. check out my video.
  5. Link to my video about SGC grading if anyone wants to check it out.
  6. I waited a month for that review and had to call and they sent me the label. Stay on top of it, they arent reviewing anything.
  7. def get subs on the higher end cards. I think it all comes down to what you are grading. dont pay 25 to grade a card worth 10 bucks if that makes sense. I have been buying CSG slabs with subgrades for under $10, dont be the guy giving away his money.
  8. I had to send back 1 out of 9 on my 1st order and same thing. I had it right on the sheet and they ignored it. they also ignored the back of the card which also says what set it is from.
  9. Congrats on the 10! Lol at the 5.5, this will happen, looks like you caught most everything else. Show that 10!
  10. Bulk order sent 3/30 Received 6/7 Scheduled for grading(sometime this month)? 60 Day TAT Bulk order sent 4/26 Received 7/26 Scheduled for grading(immediately) 60 Day TAT(might've been 90, this was right when psa closed) for anybody wondering about their cards or thinking about sending in. This is what I'm working with. Also working on another bulk order for what its worth. TAT not the most important thing to me, and by no means does this mean take your time with my junk CSG. I want my babies back!
  11. Hobby lobby just started carrying cards recently. Call your local store and find out.
  12. I dont care who you are, that right there is funny! And dang you for making me check my bulks to see if I put an 88 Donruss in there! Glavine maybe but it wouldve had to have been perfect in every way.
  13. I am only using CSG for pc cards. I want my slabs to be uniform and look alike. Like Ashky said, the slabs are beautiful and the cost is the lowest around right now. I would take it a step further though and suggest that you do your own slab research and see what you prefer. Buy a slab from each company and compare the quality and what appeals to you. I would not even consider sending a card for my pc or to display to PSA(resell is different). I cant stand the way the cards slide around in the psa slabs and they feel and look cheap to me. IMO BGS and CSG slabs are the best quality and look the best for display. I have voiced my opinion on SGC around these boards and I would stay away from them for pc(which is a shame because I like the black border, I just don't like the way cards can get stuck behind or damaged from the same border). If you have not held a CSG slab in your hand, you really need to. You think you like it now, but wait'll you drive it.
  14. huh? the cost of grading the card is what they are going to charge you and the swings the card will incur while sitting in a warehouse for months. The value of your ungraded card is its raw value. the potential value is expected ROI(return on investment) after grading.
  15. Seems like easy math if all you want to do is sell. But without knowing your intentions or financial situation, not much advice to give. If you need the money then sell. Gotta consider the chance that they dont gem.
  16. Take a pile of 50 cards. this is going to take time. but you need to know the values of the cards. I go buy what it costs to grade the card. Right now for bulk it is $12, double that and you now have a minimal raw price point of $25($44 with subs)for your cards to even be considered for grading. This should keep you from wasting money and grading cards that will not resell for enough to justify the price or any price swings you will incur while they are sitting in a warehouse. So now we use the minimal price point to compare what the card sells for raw( which you could save a bunch of time and effort selling raw if it is not worth it to grade the card in the first place). Now start going through your stack of 50 cards. First thing is price point. Second thing is centering. If the card is off center, it doesnt get sent. If it is centered, put it in a second pile for later. your discard pile should grow a lot faster than your grading pile. after your first go through, take the grading pile and now pull the cards out of sleeves and hold them under a light to check surface and corners. I am very picky and will not grade cards with one bad corner(unless value determines it, or vintage) I would also suggest buying a jeweler's loupe to examine surface(cheap on amazon). The graders are going to look under magnification so you should too. Out of 50 cards using this process, you should end up with 10 or less cards in your grading pile. There is a lot more to consider when grading vintage cards and the values are higher so most vintage should be graded if you know its authentic and hasn't been tampered with. If you are grading for your own pc, then grade whatever you want protected and authenticated. This is my own dumb little system that I use and it seems to be working, figure out what works best for you and remember to enjoy the hobby. I use that double the grading cost and compare to raw price because the resale value of these slabs is just not there yet and it is going to take a long time to get there. I only send eye appeal vintage or cards that imo will gem. If you are going to try and flip CSG slabs right now, you have to realize that you are probably going to get raw or less than raw prices(depending on the grade).
  17. Best advice I can give you is check once a week or less. They are very slow and your cards will not be logged for probably another month or longer. Just a quality of life suggestion, not being a debbie downer or trying to put them down. It is what it is and its the same all over. You can get your cards back faster with an unknown garage grader or wait for a better service.
  18. There is no way to turn that PSA favoritism around in this hobby environment. Everyone and their mother is more worried about TATs and ROI than actually getting accurate grading. If one company starts giving out more 10s(SGC right now, PSA before) you will see an uptick in their business. SGC is also getting a bump from quick TATs. Do the people grading with them care if the card is given an inaccurate grade or put into a cheaper holder? No, because their intention is to sell it as quickly and for as much profit as possible. In the long run, I am hoping that CSG will gain traction being a respected company and sticking to their standards. The flippers will disappear after bad decisions catch up with them or the credit card bills and tougher grades will be desired by discerning collectors.
  19. That's not what Customer Service told me. I was told I would have to re submit it as if it were raw and pay the full tier price plus subgrades. Their reasoning was that it had to be regraded if you want to add subgrades. better check your info. Which is BS anyways because I was told when I sent the original sub that I would have the option to add subgrades, then they changed their minds about that. As much as I like the slabs, this company sucks.
  20. SGC slab seems like the cheapest of the cheap chinese doodoo. One size fits all with the "tuxedo" to hold it in place. No thank you.
  21. Subbing it bulk? $100. Just put the max of whatever tier your subbing it at.
  22. Love that saying. First time I heard it was at the dog track. Buddy wins a trifecta and loses money. He said, "I've paid a dollar to watch a monkey fk a football, but I ain't never paid no dollar to watch a football fk a monkey".
  23. Accurate, that is the week that PSA shutdown. I wouldn't expect that to move for another month
