I just finished reading this thread from beginning to end.......where's the next chapter? I'm literally GLUED to my computer...

When friends, mothers and lovers persecute you for collecting comic books, open up the Overstreet Price Guide and show them what a NM copy of Action Comics # 1 goes for these days...No matter if you will EVER own a copy or not. Unless they're somewhat IN-THE-KNOW about collecting comics they will become convinced that you will be one rich mutha in 40 years and that your copy of Man-Thing No. 1 will bring thousands.

The 200 copies of the book will "trade" for a while, each time selling for a little more than the last time. Eventually, "investors" will pay too much for these copies, and the "mark-up" will end. It is at this point(or shortly therafter) that they will begin to "dump" these books for a price far less then they paid. Then, and only then, the books will end up where they BELONG(no JC, not the garbage), in the collections of TRUE Batman fans.............

Oh, and as far as the CA #180, I was seriously thinking about buying it the 1st time it listed. I think it's a pretty cool book....

It's pretty simple really. Buy the stuff you like, at the price that it's worth to you. I only buy books that I really want to own. That way, if the market crashes...it doesn't matter at all.
