Promise Whiz #2 has the wrong back cover
Transplant replied to catman76's topic in Golden Age Comic Books
I'll ask again. @CGC Mike Why was it closed to begin with? -
You don't get to pick your own custom title.

Where in the world was the Quality Control at CGC???
Transplant replied to Wally's Comics's topic in Comics General
Why was it locked to begin with? -
Respectfully, @kazoo it wasn't bc of shoplifting. It would take 5 minutes of Google to see this is a BS line spouted not just by Walgreens, but by the Chamber of Commerce in multiple places. As I said, Walgreens was oversaturated in the SF market. If crime was/is so bad, why didn't CVS close any? (Before their announced reformatting of stores and nationwide closure of 900!! stores). One figure I saw said that the five stores had an average of 2 reported shoplifting events since 2018. Must have been some very slim profit margins or some VERY expensive items that were shoplifted.

Oh? Do tell. Which cities and states enabled this behavior?

I'm not singling you out, John. But this thread is rife with the usual suspects pushing particular politics. Can we just knock it off? Or maybe the mods should allow politics to enable some people to refute the idiotic posts being made in here?

Buyer wants me to ship to a different address
Transplant replied to dupont2005's topic in Comics General
Somehow, you're right. This happened to me when I moved and didn't change my address in Ebay/paypal before making a purchase. -
Haha. Walgreens announced in 2017 they were closing 600 stores nationwide. They had 53 in SF alone compared to around 22 for CVS, their biggest competitor. It wasn't shoplifting that led them to close them.

Here are my rules. Read them carefully. Your life may depend on it. Whoever works out a deal for the book first wins. If that's in the thread here, fine. If it's in a PM, fine. Whoever gets to agreement on the terms with me first, wins. Here's the rest. I will take Paypal/Zelle/Venmo. I will possibly accept other forms of payment if I trust you (please check first). Shipping is US only for this, via your preferred method, priority or UPS/Fedex. Payment is expected within 7 days unless we work something out in advance. If I have you on ignore, or if you are on the PL or HOS, I will not sell to you. Returns permitted, just notify me within 3 days and you cover shipping unless there was damage in transit or the console doesn't work. What else can I think of? Nothing at the moment. But the above is subject to change at any time. Thread is open until 6pm EST on 12/12 then it closes and heads elsewhere.

I am now here just for the YCDTOT fandom. Great show.

It happens so much they have a tat category for it. Two In fact, high value and non. FYI most of the damage I’ve seen and heard about is the kind that would happen if people just manhandle the book: rhumb dents and creases. Like some goon transferring books from box to box.
-
That may or may not be the it I was referring to.
-
You never get it.

It says they hope to have all subs on the optimized workflow process by December. That just means getting them opened. It doesn’t say TATs will go down by then and certainly doesn’t say to a week. I’d prefer they addressed new processes to make sure books aren’t damaged in their possession.

Darwyn Cooke Collecting Thread
Transplant replied to Bill Robinson's topic in Modern Age Comic Books
I'll take your word for it. I remember talking with Darwyn and his wife at Planet Comicon and now that you mention it, I think she actually talked me into keeping it sealed instead of cracking for him to sign it. She was telling me it was hard to get (which I knew) and valuable (which, ok). But what she did talk me into was a full figure sketch with inks that I may have posted on the boards before. An amazing Daredevil that I love. Anyway, here are some more of my books. L-R Absolute New Frontier signed and sketched - see below; Selina's Big Score; The Spirit books 1 and 2 signed and sketch of the mask Parker Hunter regular; Hunter - SDCC LE of 500 but my plate wasn't colored, but was signed and sketched later; Outfit regular and 2 copies of NYCC Outfit LE; regular Score and the SDCC LE and finally regular Slayground; finally the regular Martini Edition behind them
