  1. In March I finally caved and got a PS+ Extra sub for a year.  Had just finished Horizon Forbidden West, which was a lot of fun.  Glad I did as I was thinking of grabbing God of War Ragnarok but wanted to try God of War first, as I'd never played it.  Instead, I detoured and spent many hours with Death Stranding, an altogether different game which I thoroughly enjoyed.  Once I'd had my fill there, I loaded up GoW and started beating up dead guys and monsters.  Very entertaining and will likely grab Ragnarok later. Might play Miles Morales or the LOU remaster after I get tired of GoW side quests.

    These are scary and awful.

    The AI clearly nailed it.

To be a Debbie Downer though on all the fun.  AI learns/steals from art created by humans, whether that's writing/visual/etc.  "Art" will soon be even less of a viable career choice than it already is and the artists whose work made the AI output possible will get nothing for it.  The AI "owners" will be the only ones profiting.

That is a issue, I have with the show premise in general. So this is supposed to be how many years after the apocalypse (15 or so)?  I can understand society going to hell, but I not buying the all knowledge would be lost implications.   The show seems to imply there are a significant amount of survivors.   I would think that some level of manufacturing for basic necessities, like some drugs, car parts, batteries, etc would have been brought back online. When in reality, the manufacturing abilities, raw materials, and knowledge is all still around.  It just always seems to me like society would recover (to some degree) quicker, and we would adapt to the fungus.

Not to quibble, as I don't think it's explored much in the game either, but the first or second episode has one FEDRA talking about pills being made (Atlanta maybe) and coming in on shipments.  I would imagine supply chain issues are bad.  You can know how to build an EV, but it won't do much good without all the components.

  4. Here are my rules. Read them carefully. Your life may depend on it.

Whoever works out a deal for the book first wins. If that's in the thread here, fine. If it's in a PM, fine. Whoever gets to agreement on the terms with me first, wins.

Here's the rest. I will take Paypal.  I will possibly accept other forms of payment if I trust you (please check first). Shipping is mostly US only at cost for priority, usually around $10.  Outside the US is permitted, but depending on the $$ amount, it will need to be trackable and that can get real expensive.  Payment is expected within 7 days unless we work something out in advance.

If I have you on ignore, or if you are on the PL or HOS, I will not sell to you. Sales on CGC books are final unless I screwed something up.  Raw books can be returned; just let me know within 5 days and return shipping is on you unless I messed it up.

What else can I think of? Nothing at the moment. But the above is subject to change at any time.

Someone who has played the game can tell us for sure, but from what I've read, the in-game explanation is that when the fungus infects an unusally buff (or obese) human, that body mass provides a fuel source for hypergrowth of the fungus, leading to the bloater effect.

Bloaters weren't level bosses, per se, as the game isn't really set up that way.  They are just very hard to kill.  I think the explanation is that they are someone who has been infected since the very beginning (think 20 years on), so they've grown in size and strength.

  7. I think people forget this isn't a show/game about a zombie/monster apocalypse.  That is a framework.  It isn't quite the "people are the real monsters" of Walking Dead, but this is a show about a man trying to get this girl somewhere where she could be a cure, all the while reestablishing a part of his humanity that he might've lost before.

Some of that is going to be clearer to everyone after the series concludes.  Whatever your universe rules are, stick with them.  Gas degrades some, but not all the way in 20 years?  Okay.  Just stick with it.  Cold areas are less likely to have lots of infected?  Fine.
