The videogame side of AFA is VGA. So far Heritage has dealt only with WATA graded items. Do they sell AFA stuff ?

For years there was only a small handful of his strips on the market. A few years ago a number of them hit the market many from the first year of the strip. I highly doubt the Buck Rogers TV show ever effect the price of the originals Back in the 70s and 80 newspaper strips were very inexpensive like comic book art. Neither had a huge market at that time.

I was watching a short video on magic the gathering and videogame artwork and found this statement hard to believe. As an example to prove a point that he was making, a youtuber started that you would have been better off selling any Buck Rogers artwork in the 70s and 80s.
Now I saw the Frazetta cover sell year on Heritage for 1/2 Million so he must talking about the newspaper strip art ?
How much did Buck Rogers artwork sell for in the 70s and 80s? What could he be referring to?Statement is at approx 7:45 on this video.

If that wasn't bad enough another artist who shared his support reported that he still hasn't been paid for Mars Attacks and Star Wars Galaxies sketches he did in 2012!
Mike Wasion I did sketches for Mars Attacks Heritage and Star Wars Galaxy back in 2012, and I NEVER got paid! Good times...sad but not surprised that it's still going on, the people they have running THAT show... -

feeling emotional.
It is with heavy heart that I am announcing that I will no longer be producing sketch cards for Topps. The decision is a difficult one for me as I love drawing Garbage Pail Kids and especially Wacky Packages but after doing alot of soul searching I realize that I cannot continue to work for a company that treats it's artist with such disrespect and unprofessionalism. I'm in a position now that I don't have to draw for the insulting rate of only $1.50 per card and then wait and wait while Topps disregards it's own obligations when it comes to payment. This year I have worked on 4 different sets and as of today have not received a single check for any of them. E-mails to Topps go unanswered and yet new invites are still sent out.
Topps does not realize the talent the have at their disposal...or maybe they do and that is why they are taken advantage of. They also obviously do not realize that one reason why their sales are so good is because of collectors like you who buy massive amounts in search of the sketch cards we provide. It is the collector who I appreciate the most, the ones who get sketch cards and keep them because they actually appreciate what we do. The flippers however can go off as far as I am concerned, they are only out to make a buck and couldn't care less what is on the cards they ebay and get up to hundreds of dollars while we sit back and watch our art that we got paid pennies for get auctioned and we don't see a dime. It's a cruel business and it's time to spread my wings and do my own art instead of getting paid basically to copy someone else's. I will still be here on the GPK and Wacky Packages boards because I'm so anxious to see who ends up with my final sketches from the upcoming set. Best of luck to all artists and collectors, you guys and gals are the greatest bunch of fans I've had the pleasure of meeting.
Oh and I DO still have some blanks from the Scratch and Stink set but am currently not taking any new commissions...but will definitely let you guys know when they will be available to purchase.

Early on in game collecting CIB was short for Cartridge Instructions Box. Guys would make sheets of all known existing games and have separate columns for C I & B. Then they would circle the items they had for each game. Sealed collecting at that time was basically non-existent.
With the advent of eBay some sellers used CIB to mean Complete in Box as title character space was a valuable commodity.
Today which definition you get will depend on who you ask but it is one of these 2.

It is hard to know in comics when someone is really dead. Is Tony Stark dead dead?
If so that would have to mean no more movies with the Tony Stark character.
I’d been hoping there would be an Armor Wars based movie in the future. However, no Tony Stark = no Armor Wars.

I can not speak for OA I can confirm that after selling comics in the store for 14 yrs we had several collectors who put Big John as there #1 artist and I can recall many a conversation about JB being the best artist to ever work on Conan. On a personal note: when I read Good, competent craftsman, for better, or for worse I don't think of JB more Don Heck and several others but not JB in my mind there are many examples of his art just being much more than just competent but that just my personal opinion.
I don’t think these types of conversations are mostly focused on dumping on artists. To me it feels more like a group of collectors objectively trying to sort out or explain current after market pricing trends.

My vote is worth very little as I didn’t read comics in the 60s and 70s. Some 80s but mostly 90s.
That being said now that I’ve started collecting art you just can’t help but learn a little bit about these guys outside your comfort zone as you go. When I scroll over auctions on HA and CL several images that I’ve never seen before will stop me in my tracks..

That doesn’t ever happen to me on Bucema’s pieces. Perhaps he is an acquired taste or you had to be there to fully appreciate his work. To me it looks good but doesn’t wow and stop me in my tracks.
I think what Bronty is saying (if I may put words in his mouth) is that if every fan voted for 5 or 10 favorites for GOAT that JB might rate well in the rankings. However, if people only had 1 vote for GOAT that JB wouldn’t rate nearly as well.
