  1. I love you (well in a bro kind of way) I buy your hole fillers and they become my crème de la crème.
  2. He's from Spain. I bought my Red Raven #1 from him. Really good seller to me. He doesn't frequent the boards that often. His Ebay ID is jaomjaom. Currently has a Bats 1 listed -- http://www.ebay.com/sch/jaomjaom/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from=
  3. I know not a recognized ped but I really like New Hampshires and the date marking. I have a few copies which have it so I assume they all do but not sure. The ones I have are very solid books and great PQ -
  4. Claudio is one cool cat. I bought a great SA FF 36 (one of my favs) and he sent it securely packed and quickly all the way from Italy. He also included a pretty neat freebie to go along with the book. He is a great asset to the boards. Thanks again Jeff
  5. rosa and thompson, peds. just look where cgc puts it on the label. in middle, under title, just a notable collector's collection, i.e. cage, blades, jacquet, gibson, manarino, etc. over on the right, in the "pedigree spot," it's a ped. Thanks BP. I realized the placement was different but adding collection threw me. I honestly didn't know both Rosa and the Thompson's were bought by them off the rack.
  6. I had no idea you were that comprehensive on the Pedigrees Jeff. Are ones like Don Rosa and Don/Maggie peds or just from their collection and not OO? What would Lloyd Jacquet collection be considered other than having poor PQ or Nicholas Cage which I know isn't OO?
  7. Even though I bought lots of books in the 80s, this is one of the few series I actually read Yeah tis good. All the ones I posted were from my own collection. I stopped buying comics in the late 80s so didn't keep going with the series. Really great stuff though. I am still a big fan of the Wein/Wrightson issues from the BA too.
  8. I think I would be in jail if I applied your practices into my employment. Ebay, however, is a free marketplace. I thought Rikers was your address? What's Rikers, the name of your bus stop? Commander Riker, other wise known as # 1. Only James Tiberius Kirk is a more effective playa in the Star Trek universe Riker scored better after he grew the beard.
  9. I personally don't mind someone quoting GPA sales data for slabbed books. I like to see the date of the last sale and 12 month average for similar grades. But only if selling slabbed books and not raw. I would use current OSPG for raw. On slabbed books, since I have GPA, I tend to look it up anyway and will even if the seller quotes it. These should be used as a guide and the buyer should be mindful of the market and do their own research regardless before buying though. I would get more riled if the seller didn't disclose something about the condition or even history of a book (deslabbed, once PGX, returned for some reason, etc.) if it is me. All just my
  10. I know this is an old thread but didn't want to start a new one for this. I was going through some books and ran across one of Roy Thomas' letters. This one is from JLA #33. What I thought was cool is that he must have taken over as the editor of Alter ego. Kind of a fun nostalgic read. CGC does note the Thomas letter on slabbed copies.
  11. Here's the old thread http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=5458432&fpart=1
  12. Richard I pulled this from Lonestar's site. And I don't have my copy handy but I think there was something in the Warren Companion book. It seems like the blue striped staples was the key difference but I've owned neither and am no expert. FIRST PRINTING - B & W, 5 1/4" wide x 7 1/4 high, evenly trimmed. On page 18, panel 5, in the upper-left hand corner, the large rear view of a bald headed man blends into solid black and is unrecongnizable. Overall printing quality is poor. The SECOND PRINTING is also B & W, 5 1/4" wide x 7 1/4" high, with uneven, untrimmed edges (if one of these were trimmed evenly, the size would be less than indicated). The figure of the bald headed man on page 18, panel 5 is clear and discernable. The staples have a 1/4" blue stripe. Second printing. B & W, 5 1/4" wide x 7 1/4" high, with uneven, untrimmed edges (if one of these were trimmed evenly, the size would be less than indicated). The figure of the bald headed man on page 18, panel 5 is clear and discernable. The staples have a 1/4" blue stripe. The fabled Eerie ashcan edition is technically the first issue of the magazine. It was released in a hurry to prevent Eerie Publications from using the title of Warren's second horror magazine. Two-hundred copies were printed, but never distributed through traditional means (though some made their way to newsstands).
  13. Hey all I'm starting to shed lots of my collection. I've listed a few on Ebay to start and will be adding I hope many more. If anything catches eye, shoot me a PM. Here are some direct links but check other items too. Action Comics #180 Zip Comics #41 X-Venture #2 Crack Comics #59 Whiz Comics #64 Dynamic Comics #23 Feature Comics #96
  14. While they are the same in the sense that people on either list should be "refused service" so to speak in the sales area, they are not meant to be the same in the big picture of standing in the community. Someone on the PL can be there simply because they made an honest mistake, or messed up in a minor sense, and haven't met an obligation. By meeting the obligation they can come off the PL and start again. It is not punishment and whether its judgment depends on the case. The HoS is more like "high crimes and misdemeanors" of the kind that mark a Board member as unworthy of the community. It can only come about by a majority vote and it can only be removed by a majority vote. So like Ed said above too, effectually as far as sales board transactions, there is no difference. Just to be clear I'm not advocating changes,s, there is no difference, i.e., buyer/seller beware if dealing with these folks. The only differences then are no method of removal from HOS which seems to be sound as the "crime" is voted most egregious plus it is more publicly shameful. Just to be clear I'm no advocating changes, I had just wondered why some advocated so much for HOS when to me I had treated them more or less the same but given, that HOS is permanent, I can more readily understand. Thanks.
  15. Stupid question and I should know but what are the different ramifications between PL and HOS other than greater shame? Once on HOS, is there no remedy like there is for PL which is to make things right with the wronged party(s) and have them then give tye thumbs up for removal? Is banning a requirement to put on HOS which I don't think it is? I look at them the same as far as who I am willing with.
  16. That depends on where you live, and how expensive the item your buying is. People that live in states that Clink have offices in also have to pay the sales tax, not just the 3%. Saving that 3% can save you some money if its a expensive item your buying, and already getting taxed on it. I get charged an extra 7% in state tax, plus the 3% which would add up to 10% extra of the final price, which means that when I bid I have to keep in mind how much the tax would be, which is why I always pay by check, since that 3% can add up. The sales tax is based on where you live - not the 3% PP/CC fee for those sites that do this. I think we are saying the same thing. One thing to add that I experienced - I had won a fairly significant lot from HA, around $1000. I was travelling to Dallas anyway and scheduled to stop by their offices to pay and pick it up, thjinmking I'll save shipping. I live in Oklahoma so never had to pay sales tax with HA but since I actually paid within Texas, I got hit with the sales tax which was more than the shipping/insurance would have been
  17. The 3% add-on CC/PP fee is also charged at places like Comiclink and Pedigree. You don't pay it when using a check or money order. Doesn't really bother me if given a choice. If I happen to buy a higher dollar item, then I have sent a check which of course takes longer.
  18. - yep 1970s goodness. You can still buy it - http://www.vermontcountrystore.com/store/jump/productDetail/Health_&_Beauty/Hair_&_Nail_Care/Hair_Care/Gee,_Your_Hair_Smells_Terrific/54234 Jergens Gee Your Hair Smells Terrific from Robert Burton on Vimeo.
  19. Seriously SW21 is the best single comic I've ever read. I recommend it to anyone and everyone. The best single comic I ever read was Popeye 326. He eats some tainted spinach and goes on a hallucinogenic murderous rampage that makes your average Tarantino film look like an animated Disney movie.
  20. Going for boardie of the year 2015? I always strive for the unattainable. That's why I don't have a girlfriend. -slym I'd vote for you too, Slym
  21. Why do we need so many issue clubs Given how many "hot" books, that's all this forum will become. Oh btw,
