  1. Thanks for the post. Well thought out. (thumbs u I really wished CGC would get rid of the green label and just consider the defect in their grading - at least for books that are otherwise complete. I could see keeping GLODs for incompletes. If not, then I wish that CGC would post both grades on the label. My book below falls into your category 2. I know I could have requested the grade to be considered when I subbed it and had it encapsulated in a universal holder (at least that is my understanding). After receiving the book, I called and had one person at CGC tell me that it wouldn't grade over a 4.0 with the defect. (I do not think there were any other noted flaws). I guess a 4.0 is possible but I also have a blue label FY (Below) with the same defect as a 6.5. I may have wanted the Thrilling in a blue 6.5 but maybe not a 4.0. So in my world, I'd like a couple of options: 1. CGC put both grades on the label, or 2. CGC give the subber the option during the grading process of which grade/label they want. Seems like that would be good customer service to contact the owner and ask them - may be an unviable option for CGC customer service, but it is a thought.
  2. Warlord, those are some cool items. Brings back a lot of memories. (thumbs u
  3. That is incredible. Absolutely great accomplishment. Good luck with the last 23%.
  4. Cool books. I'm not a Timely expert so I have no clue but did Complete Comics and Amazing Comics migrate to other Timely titles?
  5. Jeff - here's another thing you might try. Go to Heritage's Archives and search for "only issue" {try other searches as well} in the titles and descriptions in Golden Age. You'll get bunches of results. Not perfect but a start.
  6. Great, just great - now cheetah is after Centaurs. We're all in BIG trouble now! But he's still buying Nedors too
  7. I think are bunches and bunches, Jeff and my few above don't even scratch the surface. It would be cool if we could search GCD by number of issues and age ranges. That would get you what you're after for a lot of issues.
  8. These are one and dones that I have. Some of these may not fit your definition like the giveaways.
  9. I keep getting sucked into SA even though my main focus over the years has been GA. Went Steranko crazy as I picked up a handful of Nick Furys and Cap #110 (IMO, one of the coolest covers ever). Nothing too special about these except the PQ is very nice on all. And I added the Dr. Strange at the same time.
  10. Very, very cool (thumbs u And congrats again on the engagement
  11. More Nedor junk for your collection, Cheetah I certainly don't mind being philanthropic and letting you send it my way so it doesn't clutter up your collection. Really nice, Nice, NICE books as usual
  12. At the time I was trying to finish my ABC run and needed a #31. I was amazed at how much those lots went for. Bidding war I assume. That is a heck of an Exciting lot - some real tough ones in there.
  13. That was a great auction. I bid by phone - I forget what else I picked up. IIRC, they had some Nedor group lots that went for way too much money I thought at the time. I actually got in trouble on that auction - I was phone bidding while at a restaurant with the wife and kid. The wife was none too happy.
  14. Boomer bob....nothing else to say I remember when it used to be Big Game Bob
  15. Thanks, Steve - you've helped build this collection when I bought the Exciting #4 from you. Heck so many of these books have come from board members. Your Pep books deserve at least a few
  16. Dear Gator Why do my Sooners suck - how many more games will they lose?
