Wonder Comics 14 - high grade copies

The upcoming ComicLink auction has a nice Wonder Comics 14 from

Better Pubs, with a Schomburg bondage cover.

 

And it's a 9.4 -- which for any GA book is a cause for much cheering. Books

from the 1940s in 9.4 are pretty rare IMO.

 

So I look in the census, and there are THREE COPIES in 9.6. THREE!

Unfrigginbelievable.

 

I wonder if they were stored together - some maniac kid in 1947 who had 3

copies in his desk drawer or something? I'm just astounded to see so many

of these in that kind of shape.

 

Most folks who have a 9.6 golden age anything have the nicest copy that

will ever be found ... excep with this puppy.

I don know of a copy that if graded is probably one of those -- and there weren't 3 from that same source.

 

Could be a re-submit of someone going for 9.8.

 

Could be 3 different 9.6s. It happens. (shrug)
