I thought Greggy was a Thai love child? hm

Jim

You sure?

I really thought he was Mongolian hm

Why would you think that ? Maybe because he's a "rough rider" ? (shrug)

He does have that " destroy your enemies" mentality (:

Working on mainly silver and modern and my lowest grade is generally in the F(ish) range.

I like to read the books so I prefer everything to be in good order but after a reading or two I like to thumb thru my stacks and look at the covers. So for me, cover condition is the most important thing. Pages inside can be OW or even cream/tan but as long as the cover is in great shape I'll be a happy camper.

What happened to my thread?! :signofftopic:

lol

For me, it's all about value. Depending on the price, I'm willing to buy books in most conditions. I don't do brittle and I don't do incomplete, but otherwise most any condition is at least considered.

My favorite grade for GA is VG/FN and for SA is VF/NM. Both get you nice copies without hitting the nosebleed prices.

It's become more important the longer I've collected and acquired most of my goals. Once I started having a sizable collection, and I have many more longboxes than I'd like, I've started to look for comics almost exclusively in VF or higher. The reason is two-fold:

- I look at what I bought years ago and noticed that I have far more "ratty" common comics than I thought or realized.

- And alot of my purchases are upgrades to what I already own. What's the purpose in upgrading unless it a true high grade copy?
