I spoke to James Bama's Reps earlier this year. I asked them about him. They said he was in good health. They also said He did not want to attend any conventions or do any private signings. I asked them if money would help change his mind they said no that he was rather adamant about this

Did you ask if money would help change their minds in order to change his mind?

no I did not ask that but that starts costing alot to pay an agent to convince and artist to take payment to sign autographs.
