Any comic stores in SF or the Bay Area?

My comments/feedback below, although this is a pretty good list.

Despite the fact that many comic stores in SF no longer carry old books, there are still a few that might be worth checking out depending on what you're looking for.

Al's Comics - I haven't been here yet, but will check it out someday. Seems to have a decent mix of comics: Not a great store; backstock is hard to search

Amazing Adventures - They have a lot of gold, silver, bronze and modern age books, and are located in the Sunset district closer to the beach:Decent backstock, but aggressive prices on HG stuff

Amazing Fantasy - They don't have as many old books, but are close to Golden Gate Park if you're planning to check it out anyway:Small store, limited backstock

Comic Outpost - Another store that has a mix of silver age and up books, with mostly newer stuff:

In addition to the other non-SF stores listed in this thread, the Comic Collector Shop in Mountain View and Heroes Comics in Campbell have some nice stuff:Both of these stores are better to visit than any in SF

Enjoy your time in the city, and happy hunting!

Howdy. I'm an SF native.

In San Francisco itself, there is Al's Comics, as mentioned before. I was there two weekends ago, and it was a decent shop. I spent about $100 on back issues in a day.

If you are interested in finding good stuff to read, Isotope Comics is one of the best stores from a comic reading point of view. It's not a store for comic collectors though.

Also, as others have said, Comic Relief in Berkeley is a great store. That was my LCS when I went to school at UC Berkeley.
