ComicArtFans.com launches Auction Challenge/Contest Site

Hey Everyone,

Many of you have probably already seen my press release over at CAF regarding the new site we built where collectors can challenge other collectors by seeing who can guess the final bid (or come closest) on comic art and other collectibles auctions, but in case you hadn't, here is the link to the article:

Essentially we'll give away monthly prizes to the best Challenger in each Category we run challenges in. Someone gets to be the overall site winner and gets the biggest prize (a choice of 3 different prizes not yet posted - it'll be worthwhile!). Periodically we'll have Challenges where just being the winner will earn you a prize. Right now we kicked things off by having a Prize Challenge like that, and it also will benefit the Hero Initiative as ComicArtFans.com will be making a donation to them in appreciation for them providing a David Lloyd drawing for the Prize Challenge. The auction you have to guess the final bid on is an Adam Hughes cover. After you read the press release above, you can get all the details on this Prize Challenge by going here:

Thanks for checking this out. Also, sorry I can't be a regular on these forums. I wish I had time to be a regular anywhere!

Best,

Thanks!

When I'm not keeping score myself I think I'm pretty good at guessing where an auction is going to go. During my beta testing I realized that once I really started committing myself to a price, I was pretty mediocre!

Right now we're working on getting everyone's profile page ready (so you can see who you're challenging) then we are going to add the code that allows members to choose the auctions they want to challenge(with us having to approve them before release, mostly to make sure all the links work, etc). These challenges will be shown on your Profile page on the site, and other members will be able to "watch" your profile to be alerted when you issue a challenge to other collectors.

I've got a long list of ideas for the site!

Hi Bill,

Thanks a lot for choosing my auction as your inaugural "Featured Challenge". I gotta admit that I have no idea where this will finish up (the higher, the better, of course ), but the number of views and viewers (72 and counting :o ) will hopefully make for a lively finish.

Anyhow, your kickback's in the mail.

Felix
