Got any cool comic stuff from the 1960s or 1970s

I love these oddball things. :cloud9:

Huge laminated placemats, I think (not sure) they were released with those DC Pepsi glasses. (These are the only ones I've personally ever seen)

One side has origin stories, and the other iconic DC art. The Superman is from that N. Adams #233 cover. :applause:

hm When I was very small I had a canister puzzle of that Batman image. Wish I could find one...

The majority of these characters started as cartoons, but most, if not all, appeared in a comic book or two. This is my 1960's Soaky collection.

In the event that you don't know what a Soaky is, a Soaky was a figural container that was full of bubble bath. The primary companies that produced them were Colgate-Palmolive and Purex. Once the container was empty, the object was to give it to the child to use as a toy. When it was full, it was to entice the child to want to take a bath. These are very cool in my opinion. The goal is to find examples that have the fewest amount of scuffs or paint loss. This is not easy considering they were used in bath water over and over until they were empty. These are some pretty nice examples, some still full, with minimal paint wear.

Ooh, I had one of those when I was little. Kept it for years and then sold it for big bucks on eBay. :insane:

I sold off my favourite Shogun Warrior many moons ago. Wish I still had him..... :(

I received Godzilla as a present one Christmas. The tail wouldn't quite fit over the back end and snap on. So, Dad put it in the microwave for a few seconds to warm it up and then it just popped right on. I thought it was the coolest thing.

Every morning I had to watch the Godzilla cartoon with Jana of the Jungle.

Mine was a Christmas present from the folks as well. :cloud9:

Wish I still had all my megos. Stupid collectors & their stupid money.... :pullhair:

Good God! You are the Canadian me. :o

Thanks! I agree, wish I knew more about them. Only one's I've seen, but I've seen those Pepsi Glasses at almost every convention and flea market I've been to.

I can't help but think of all those DC Pepsi Glass collectors that think they have a complete collection. But they don't. Not without these, they don't. MWAH-HA-HA! (rubs hands together)
