How many of you had a small heart attack when Tim Conway pulled the folded issue of Plastic Man out of his back pocket?

 

I stumbled on the show last night and was dismayed to see how it portrayed comic fans. Sure it's a comedy, but they stuck to every cheap stereotypical shot in the book. Imagine if the show had been about NASCAR or guns and had taken every cheap stereotypical shot at them. There would be furor all over.

Have you ever watched SNL or MAD TV? Or a single Adam Sandler, Jack Black or Tom Green movie?

 

Taking shots is the trademark of current US comedy. But like I said before, you probably didn't notice, as the "revered league of comic fans" wasn't the butt of the joke.

One of the funniest parts of the show was when Tim Conway met his internet "friends" at the show...and they were all like 12 years old!!

This is EXACTLY why all good comic book afficianados should pack serious heat and drive really fast - it's the only way to get respect these days!
