Either way, I loved living in Vegas and would move back if it weren't for the fact that I can't do what I do now out there...

Deep-sea fishing ?

Tobogganing ?

lama herding ?

(shrug)

lol

Maybe there is a city ordinance prohibiting cowbell banging. (shrug)

I acquire leases for the production of minerals from property owners.

There's not a lot of production of that sort going on in Clark County, Nevada. Upstate there is (silver mining) but who wants to live in a no-mans land?

at Planet Hollywood Casino and won $1,000!

It all started off when I decided to go out at 10 PM and took $200 to go gambling. I usually play Texas Hold 'Em but didn't have any luck at all last night with that. I ended up losing $100 within the first 20 minutes. I decided to try my luck at roulette and low and behold within a few minutes I got back my $100 that I lost at cards. I kept on playing and hit 2 numbers in a row, each with a bet of $10. When I cashed out my winnings and bought a few rounds of drinks for my friends, I ended up having a little less than $1000 in my pocket, excluding the money I started out with.

I was going to save the money for a rainy day, but ended up paying off a boardee for some Cerebus comics and also purchased this at the Bettie Page store in the Miracle Mile Shops.

This makes my third piece of framed artwork from that store. My Bettie Page collection is growing and I guess so is my sense of adventure, because I asked out one of the women working there. Bettie Page girls :cloud9:

Congratulations! I always love a good roulette winning story (I'm more of a blackjack person). My brother in law swears by roulette though. He bets $200 a hand playing 2/3 of the board betting 100 on the 1st third and 100 on the 3rd third. He swears by it and seems to win a load of money every time.

As Einstein said, "The only way to make money at Roulette is to steal it when the dealer is not looking."

You brother-in-law is using an old system that appears to work spin for spin but really kills you if you hit a losing streak. He bets $200 to win $100, that means he has to win twice to make up for 1 loss and 3 times to make money. If the wheel turns bad on him, say missing 2/3 of the time, for extended given amount of time he will lose all of his money very quickly because he is losing at 2:1 ratio.

The very first time I went to Vegas, I started with a $5 chip at Roulette and ended up winning around a $1,000. I thought it was easy. I ended up losing all that $1,000 and a few hundred more because like a sucker(fool) I kept on playing.

I now play Texas 'Hold 'Em when I go and seem to do OK at it. I've walked away with more money than I started every time I've played. I've thought about entering a $1,000 tournmant or maybe a $500 one and see how I do.

Love the game but it is a real grind and you need plenty of patience and "I don't give a darn" if I lose this money. It's ALL IN for me....
