Okay I'm embrarassed to be asking for help in this field as it's one of my expertise.

 

However I've never had a Whiz 3 or 4 so can't verify this book.

 

The first story is Beautia for president (matches #3 of GCD) and in this story there is a brief origin of Capt Marv (matches #4 OSPG). The rest of the stories match the GCD #4.

 

The book has not been tampered with, the stories all belong to this comic.

 

Does anyone have a copy or reprint to verify?

The Beautia for President story is in the May 1940 issue.

Okay so the GCD is wrong then for both issue #3 and #4? What is the name of the Captain Marvel story in the #3 then and does the Sivanna Peruvian story that is supposed to be in #4 appear in any issue?

Neither story is titled. The titles given in the GCD index are (I assume) just ones the indexer used for identification purposes.

 

More correctly the Captain Marvel story in issue #3 should be titled, "Sivana's Venusian Kingdom" and the story in #4 should be titled "Beautia for President."

 

In case you didn't know, it's a contined story.

The reason for all the confusion may be due to Fawcett's wacky numbering of these issues.

 

The April issue states its issue #3 on the cover, but #4 in the indicia.

 

The May issue says #4 on the cover, but inside it says #5.
