Another piece of art for G.O.G.

Those who have seen my gallery know I have a great affinity for the past greats, both the renowned and the unsung. So I created a gallery for the Grand Old Guard, or G.O.G., to house the commissions and sketches that I have been able to obtain. Originally I thought of Silver Age Greats and Golden Age Greats, but S.A.G. and G.A.G. sounded too much like a senior citizen porn tape.

That all being said, I was able to track down one of my all-time favorites, Russ Heath. Russ was great to talk with and worked with me on an idea to do something a little bit different than the norm. Who knows where the original art is to the Roman Soldier and Revolutionary War toy ads that ran on the back of almost every comic in the 70's, and if it did exist, I couldn't afford. So Russ agreed to redo the art and we agreed on an ink wash to keep the inking nice and sharp. I couldn't be happier with the results, it is amazing in person.

Thanks to Bryan at Silverlantern who has conducted some great interviews and provided me with some great information on the artists.
