Yeah, I know I'm posting about a modern title on the GA board, but I don't know how much crossover there is or how much you guys follow moderns. Anyway, I recommend this title to anyone who enjoys golden age books.

 

When I first read The Goon, it was shortly after reading Captain Easy. The Goon is a golden age book updated in modern garb. The Goon himself is easily a 21st century version of Captain Easy and both have half-sized comical sidekicks. The art is great and the stories are out there. Where else do you zombies, hook-handed fish men, and a giant spider who cheats at cards? The Goon is funny, violent, satirical, and sometimes thought-provoking, often all in the same story.

 

Pick up a trade paperback and start reading. It's good stuff.
