How do you Handle Finger Prints?

I have copies of Wolverine 1 and ASM 300 that are pretty much NM/M except for visible finger prints on the back covers. How do you handle this when grading?

 

Any input will be appreciated.

A fairly significant defect....an otherwise 9.4 book, I would probably go 8.5.

If they're on the front cover and more immediately noticable, I might go 8.0.

Club soda? You don't . . . that's how they got there in the first place.

 

Seriously, fingerprints are very common stains on comic books - generally caused by eating potato chips while reading them

 

They should be treated as stains, and deducted appropriately for the extent and seriousness of the stain.
