My first opinion (and since you asked) was that while the crossgens were good books and I liked most of the valiants when they came out, I think they have generally been relegated to the cheapo boxes these days.

 

At least thats where I stuck most of my leftovers and where I have picked up others to complete runs. I am sure there are scarce issues but buying in bulk I would tend to think that people would want them CHEAP.

It really just has to do with what Valiants you have. The post-unity to 1994-5 valiants, which is most of them, are pretty much $0.50 books at best. Same with most of the acclaims you have. The Armed and Dangerous are a little harder to find. The EW Acclaim as well.

I bought the entire Scion run for $10 at my LCS

Dang, the Crossgens were good reads for back in the day. But oh well, my neighbors kids will at least like them....get another generation started on comics will be good for the hobby.

Oh, they are definitely good reads, and I bought all of those and more for cover price (-20% store subscription discount) when they came out and loved them. But good art and story in modern books doesn't = valuable, or even "will sell for cover price", unfortunately.
