HOMAGE (AFTER . . . ) COVERS - CLASSIC ILLUSTRATORS GET SWIPED

There are certain comic book "tropes" (a common or overused theme or device : cliché) that are beyond swipes and homages.

 

Take for instance, the "piata" cover. I believe that a true "pieta" cover has the person holding the other person seated and not standing.
