OT: Hari "Lead Foot" Heartened and Gene "Autobahn" Delekkerste Go Driving!

Now you've got me thinking!

You might want to look into renting an Audi RS4 - it's got the same engine as the Audi RS8 supercar (~420 horsepower) and comes in much less expensive to rent, lower-key station wagon and sedan versions. It's the autobahn weapon of choice for those seeking the most bang for their euro. hm

Thanks for the advice. First step, convince the wife (done!). Second step, go shopping for a car. Thinking maybe a convertible? M6? I'll check out that RS4 too. We'll probably only drive around one day, and go see some of the castles, etc.

The great thing about Germany is the cars manufactured there or for that market are powered and geared differently from their US counterparts. Even a Ford Escort there will go over 100 mph without a problem. So you can get a relatively mundane car and still crank.

But if you're willing to pay almost $2000 for a couple hours of supercar driving in the US, why would you suddenly start going "budget" when you're in a place where you can really let it all hang out?

Started checking out the site. I don't think Gene was suggesting "budget!" The RS4 will still run 1000 dollars for one day, and that doesn't include whatever surprise charges there must be.

Will let you guys know what I decide on! I sent an email over to the Munich branch to see what they have for those days.
