(worship) Those are just beautiful. If you ever feel the need to have them move, they're all welcome in Northern Virginia. Wow.

(using number scale for CGC, alpha grades for non-CGC)

Top Row:

Cap 74: Good? (detached cover)

Mask 1: VG

Master Comics 27: VF (Lost Valley)

Weird Mysteries 4: VG+

Weird Mysteries 5: VG

Bottom Row:

All-American 61: 2.5

Mask 2: 3.0

Dynamic Comics 8: 3.5 (Crowley)

Captain Flight 11: VG+

Haunted Thrills 6: F

Definitely lower grade than a lot of sets posted earlier. A few of these are really tough in any grade (Weird Mysteries 4, Dynamic Comics 8, and Captain Flight 11). For a DC, All-American 61 is pretty tough. When I bought it, I didn't realize how difficult Master Comics 27 is to find, especially for a Fawcett. All the other Raboy covers in Master seem to be a lot easier to find. Anyone else see them around? Heritage had two copies since 2003.

Thanks a lot!

The reason it isn't higher than an 8.0 is because of a vertical non-color breaking crease on the cover (it barely breaks color below the S in Master) and a crease on the upper right corner.

I think you've shared them one at a time with us but it's fantastic seeing them together! :cloud9:

I agree about the Dynamic being the toughest book of the lot. It's pretty scarce.

Here's a scan of the Master 27:

master 25 and 27 are on my "short" list

(And because, er, because you demanded it!, the commentary--)

All of these books are from 1938-1940. So many great WWII books and atomic age books too, but this period is really the sweet spot for me. A great period of excitement and experimentation, with so much cool stuff being tried out and no one quite knowing what was going to stick.

I'm a huge fan of the early Siegel and Shuster Superman work. Something so raw and primitive about those early stories.

Tec 39 is a way underappreciated issue (and heck, given that it's a "post-Robin" Tec I know it always will be!). But the Batman tale rocks...they take on an "Chinese Hatchet Gang" that has a habit of burying hatchets in their enemies' heads. A nasty early story that feels more like a pre-Robin story. Plus it has a lovely colorful cover showing Batman knocking a thug off a building. You gotta love it.

I'm crazy for the early Fox stuff, obviously. I like so many of the Weird Comics and Science Comics issues, it's almost impossible to pick just one of each. Two of my very favorite titles of any company (still trying my best to complete the Weird run).

And in closing, a shout out to Collin (comicdey) for the Supe #2...still much appreciated...and to october for the Tec #21.

Thanks again guys. (thumbs u
