Senormac
I just finished the pencils for page 15 of the third issue. I'm getting about 3 pages a week done. Pretty slow going, but lots of fun With and without a flash.
Arkham
Another iPad painting using the PROCREATE app and a Nomad brush. Learned a LOT doing this one... primarily about colour and computer displays... this looks completely washed out on some monitors... too dark in others.... the colours were perfect on the iPad but now I've tried to edit it for PC viewing and so it's a bit bright on the iPad now... Basically, the mileage varies GREATLY depending on the monitor you're using.. which makes me wonder about how many artworks I view from this machine that don't look how they were intended. Interestabubble. Either way... this is a portrait attempt of my missus. There are so many flaws with it that it's not funny and it does her no justice.. but it was still fun to try and do! Think this is about as good as I can go without starting over.

Arkham
Thanks Buffy, Thanks Senor!! I don't hold my own against both of your creativity or skills, but I damn enjoy giving it a crack! :-) Buffy - yeah, I did an "auto-calibrate" on the work screen but it got worse. It is probably 8 years old.. so that could be a factor there. The pic above comes up alright on the iPad still. And just saw Soft-Serve's work. what a master!!! If you have a retina display iPad I know they can come off as being pretty bright and saturated over basic monitor calibration. It's also important to use the "save for web" feature in something like photoshop because the internet (meaning whatever you upload it to) can not display colors properly and saving specifically for web applications will prevent the colors from being wonky. For the longest I could have sworn my monitor wasn't calibrated properly because every time I would compare an image on my screen to an uploaded version the colors would be different. It's especially noticeable in brighter colors like purples and reds. Since I've started saving them properly I haven't had any real issues. Arkham
Think my "colour issue" is based on this: http://procreate.si/forums/index.php?topic=524.0 (As this is the app I am using to paint with on the iPad). No retina display here... but it is a very bright backlight all the same. The blue I used exported as purple... I lowered the white level a little which added more blue into it, but it still looks terrible in comparison. Thanks for the tips and advice. MR SigS
This is a striking piece! The level of creativity displayed here and in other posts is humbling, yet inspiring. I have ability, but I lack the creative touch. I've never tried sculpting past kindergarten, but have always wanted to try. Why have I put it off? Your work here is GREAT! Artboy99
Hello all, Not sure why I've taken so long to post in this section, but it is what it is. Too busy hunting down my favorite books. Anyway, I've really enjoyed looking at the work here by fellow boardies and want to finally join the fray. Comics got me into art as a kid (big surprise, I know) and that lead me to wanting to learn figurative art by way of anatomy. Anyway, I got my serious start 10 years ago at a traditional Fine Arts academy in Connecticut, but switched to a more conceptual "kitschy" type work several years ago. (although I still teach the academic approach) I'm a draftsman and sculptor, but these days the lines get a little blurred. Anyway, I'll post a few examples of both types of my work. I would love to hear your thoughts! Thanks for looking! *Feel free to visit my website (found in my sig) please note that I haven't updated it in YEARS, so my most recent work is seen below.... I did stuff like this in my university days. I miss sculpture greatly. My favorite piece is the one with the pipes connecting the large bodies. Awesome stuff, thank you for posting
