Help from hellboy fans needed...

Can anyone identify this picture? It may be from a TPB or prose story. But I'm not even sure if it was used in a Hellboy LS or in DHP. Thanks for any input.

This is probably no help, but it appears to be very reminiscent of the story in Hellboy: The Corpse, which (in addition to being somewhat featured in the movie) was a 25 cent comic and originaly published as Hellboy: The Corpse and The Iron Shoes. I don't have them available, but that is where I would start.

just checked the 25 ct issue- art doesn't come from it.

It has a familiar feel, but under Mignola's signature, it has a "7" and Mignola didn't put out a lot of Hellboy stuff in '07 or '08. It may just be a commission.

This one is killing me.....I can't find it anywhere! I've been through sketchbooks, tpbs, hcs, and regular series....... if it's been published, I can't find it. It just seems so darned familiar.

 

If you should find where it came from, please let me know!

It has been suggested that it may come from the 2008 SDCC Mike Mignola sketchbook. I have not tracked on down to check yet. Do you have one that you can look in?
