It's not your imagination. I think the Supermans in the 120's are a tough bunch above VG...121, 122 and 123 are

I don't have a feel for Batman's of the same timeframe...

This has always been one of my favorite Flash covers (first Captain Boomerang). I'd say it's a partial washtone.

One of the last great Kubert covers, IMHO. It's quintessential Kubert composition (note the diagonals) with those expressive deep black inks and that unmistakable figural abstraction (without going overboard). Another on my top 10 fav Rock cover list along with (in no particular order) 90, 95, 99, 100, 101, 105, 110, 112, & 117. I like later stuff, too, but his line was never quite as tight as it was from this era.

Hey Danny, Batman is very tough to find above VG #75-130. There are some issues that are fairly common in Fine, but all in all difficult to find nice copies. I haven't really tried to start on 75-99 yet, but it looks like a challenge.
