18 posts in this topic

I have wanted a Land piece for awhile and this fits the bill!!

:gossip:Also cost an arm and half a leg doh!

Historic piece made for the USPS poster promoting the Marvel heroes on postage stamps, the top heroes, and Stan Lee! It is also about two and a half times the size of regular modern OA :cloud9:

Beautiful piece Steve. I've read many negative comments about Greg Land drawing his characters like porn stars and swiping poses from various sources but the results are amazing. I think he is the best artist working in comics today and as good as all my favorites from the past. I have my eye on a couple of his splash pages. It's a done deal except finding the $$.

Sure nice that you can collect comics again, post on the board and be yourself.

Beat me to it lol

What happened, Steve? Couldnt stay focused :baiting:

I'm going to start calling Steve the MK of original art. I just noticed he put up his Aparo Spectre he got in July up on the Link. :(

BTW nice Land piece Steve. Did you get it from Splashpage, I can't remember if it had previously sold from there or not.

I did a quick search and couldn't find the answer. I did find this quote, however.

"We cannot put the face of a person on a stamp unless said person is deceased. My suggestion, therefore, is that you drop dead." -- J. Edward Day, Postmaster General, 1962. Day was replying to a request from an individual to be honored with a stamp. The letter was never mailed

edit nevermind I see this was for a poster not a stamp.
