PGM - Batman 312

I have a few of Batmans in this condition and this is probably the worse of them. Heavy spine stress and lots of cover folds. There is writing on the cover - 20 cents (P).

 

I am starting to record the grade on my comic purchasing records but I am not sure what to assign these ones. I am thrown off my the writing on the cover. There are no rips and is intact, good readers copy. Let me know what you think. Thanks for your help.

Really, I was thinking it was more like a VG. I am trying to learn how to grade, so can someone tell me how is the cover writing is treated for grading. Thanks.

I'd say VG. On a book in lower than Fine, Writing isn't really a big deal at all.

This looks to be an absolute classic example of a 3.5 ... too much accumulation for me to go a straight 4.0, but certainly not a straight 3.0.
