Well, my Aug CL winnings finally came in. I noticed the weird thing with the staples with Conan #1 during bidding. It didn't bother me all that much at the time, but now that I have it in hand, I'm not so sure. A nice book otherwise. A 9.6 structurally and with W pages to boot.

I have a FF #188 with the staples situated like that. It's always bothered me a little because it's a white cover--so, the staple are very visible. They're pretty hidden on your Conan #1 because of the dark cover. It is a beautiful book. Congrats.

Beautiful raw copy. I picked up one in similar condition a few months ago myself. I think it I only paid like $11 for it. I had lucked out as the auction appeared to have completely went under the radar with every body.

Sort of gone savage this weekend. Lots of Conans. Koraks and Kulls. Most are low grade readers ranging from VG to FN, but there's a few VFs tossed in there, especially Kull #1 and most of the Savage Tales. I guess it pays to look through the $1 box. The books weren't even bagged.

 

The interesting one was the Undersea Agents #3. I've never heard of them nor have I ever heard of Tower Comics. This issue appears to be from 1967 with some early Gil Kane artwork. I'd give it FN with a very solid square bound spine.
