tough call. if i sold any, i'd regret it the second i did, though they would be flipped for other books...then i could open a store and charge 10 times the value for garbage books online..oh wait, that would never work. next thing i know, id get a flood or something

I believe he said it was $2000 or the collection. Ridiculous

And just yesterday I paid $375 for one Mile High book! I think I overpaid... doh!

 

IIRC, the collection consisted of 18,000 books and Chuck paid cover price, or $0.10 each, for a grand total of $1,800.

He more than made it back!!

 

But it was a pretty big gamble on his part. The market was young.

Chuck had huge balls, and a lot of love for the hobby.

 

As much as everyone gives him, Chuck was a pioneer in comic collecting, and helped take it to the next level. :foryou:

I would love to see a pic of the room ....or basement....or wherever those books were stacked before they got hauled outta there. Its every comic lovers dream.....
