I wouldn't be at all surprised if the larger printing shops refuse to print a copyrighted work. I've run into issues here with a large box office supplies retailer refusing to print, scan or photocopy any comic, and they won't budge - not even if I tell them it is for non-commericial purposes, or that I just want to have a digital facsimile (mostly for CGC'd books) of the front cover.
