Okay...I guess Shiverbones needs entertainin'!!! Hope no one else minds...

Actually I could have pulled at least a half dozen more 59's.....

Let's start with some War...

I'll add my "Let 'er rip!"

There's a seldom seen book, but it's remarkable how often the phrase "iron man" (or men) appears on comic books. I wonder what the first uses were, "real world" and comic book.

Hmmmm... Let's see....

Romance...

SecretHearts59.jpg

DC romance covers tend to brim with melodrama, but wow! This one is over the top.

Unusual layout too.

GCD says Bernard Sachs, not an artist I have a handle on at all.

Not a Super-Hero...I have a complete near NM run of all 59 Kamandi's..Thought I'd cut thru tha chase and just show the final issue....

Kamandi59.jpg

I accumulated a Kamandi set too, but in whatever condition I found them. The high numbers, in particular, were surprisingly hard to find. I ended up paying too much for a vg+ copy just to finish off the run.

I haven't read this one though. Who's the light blue character on the right? He looks kind of like a Metal Man.

Okay people....I know I've been getting carried away on the images cause I've been taking 100's of photos. I have 22 different 59's uploaded to my photobucket ready to go. 8 of them are not DC's and...amazingly...none of the 22 books have been shown today so far.

Should I post all 22? Or should I just select a few of them. Not sure if I'm ticking others off by showing so many... (shrug) Please give me some input. Otherwise...I don't know...I may just show a few. But it's no problem to blast out all 22.

Post 'em all! (but I wouldn't mind if you got rid of the huge picture that shows up in all of your posts). :foryou:

I've been waiting for day 59 - for some weird reason I have a pletohora of 59's scanned; I'll skip the Green Lantern 'cause a much nicer copy was already posted:

This is one of my favorite Batman covers - I picked it up because of the spaceship & the orange background, but after studying it I nnoticed a couple of things that don't jump right out at you: the stars & planets are drawn like a child drew them which is refreshing and fun, but mostly what gets me is the little, tiny wheel at the bottom of the bottom fin of the rocket - like it is supposed to land like an airplane. you have to look closely...

Gee...I worked hard on that pic. Lots of Photoshop time with my Aurora Prehistoric Scenes Flying Reptiles and DC comic figures went into that one. Been meaning to do another diorama to change it up. Guess it does get old seeing it day after day... lol Maybe I can reuce it's file size a bit.

Love the up-grade on the Spidey "Go-Go" cover John T....I have more fun upgrading my low grade copies than I do getting a book I do not have.

Interesting that you say that. Personally I have trouble getting myself to upgrade. I always think, "I could have had a new book with that money." But since I discovered these boards I now have a place to easily sell my undercopies, so I've been selectively upgrading...like my Aquaman run.

This is a very interesting cover. For the most part American comics depict the Germans as inferior, incompetent soldiers, when in fact they were tough as nails.

I love my Aquaman run. Beautiful cover art throughout the series. I still need to upgrade several issues myself. But most are VF or better.

Great run of books Sea Devils! The Portrayal of the German really struck me on this one too.
