Strange Backcover Ad

I stumbled across this strange backcover ad on a DC Romance comic:

umm,...I used to take those. ..they also had a yummy powdered mix,,just add milk,... I was 5'8" and 115 lbs in high school.

I needed some of that. When I graduated from HS I weighed 140 lbs.

I like the fact that it was stylish for "Jean" to have "put on those extra pound". I've never dated anyone as thin as myself and can't imagine what it would be like without "her" having some padding. I'm prefer the Farazetta body style.

Unbelievable. The tagline in this ad should have read "You too can have all those wobble lines around you like that dancing couple we've pictured". Very odd - a sign of the times, to be sure. Or maybe the company had excess supplies of bodybuilder supplements and needed a fresh selling angle. Probably.
