Wizard cancels WWLA and WWTexas

I have never went either Wizard World LA or Wizard World Texas. WWLA never seemed to get very good word of mouth though WWTexas was attended by few on the list who really enjoyed it.

I hope they don't cancel Chicago as that's the only big show I get to ever living in Wisconsin.

The Chicago Comicon has sucked ever since Wizard took over...I hope they drop out and let someone else sponsor it...! The show gets worse every year, if that is possible. I can only imagine how bad Texas and LA is.

The magazine industry is in even worse trouble right now.... ad buys are down. I'll be surprised if Wizard lasts through 2009.

WW Texas was good for me because it was only 20 minutes away. It was the kind of show that you would never fly to. But Texas isn't a good part of the country for comic book show attendees. If you want to go to an excellent up and coming show I'd recommend the NYC comic con. I agree that Chicago was much better before Wizard.

Something tells me that you are either too young, or weren't living here when the Dallas Fantasy Fair was going on.

 

You know that little thing in the industry called the "Harvey Awards"? They held them for years at the DFF.
