Nice Adams cover--except it's Buscema

Really nice Thor cover by Neal Adams on ebay. It's even signed by Adams and inker Joe Sinnot.

 

Except it's by John Buscema.

 

STILL a really nice cover, but there's a pretty big difference between Buscema and Adams. Wonder if Neal signed it just because he did the interior art for this issue, or he just likes signing his name???

Did John Buscema do the cover with Neal Adams on the interior? It looks like Adams was credited for the pencils on #180.

What's even weirder is that on the Grand Comics Database they list the cover penciller as Marie Severin and cite "Sinnott's Personal Records" as basis for the credits.

 

Thor's face...it's hard to imagine that's anyone other than Buscema.

There is no doubt in my mind, that Marie had a hand in this cover.... the layout looks like her work and not JBuscema's. And, looks like either JBuscema/Sinnott, or just all Sinnott from there. Doesn't matter much anyway though, as the price asked seems at least double value to me. By the way, pardon my ignorance but I'm not familiar with any Adams/Sinnott covers. Anyone have any scans to share?? DF

The Marvel database states cover is by Buscema, interior art by Adams.

Interestingly enough, if you go to Neal Adams' website and review his checklist for Thor:

While the prevailing opinion is the cover to # 180 was pencilled by John Buscema, perhaps the owner is going by Neal's checklist. Neal also autographed the art.
