Ebay buyers

I've only gone this route once, as a buyer, but the seller in that instance was satisfied when she rec'd the notice from Bidpay. She got that notice instantly once I'd completed the form at Bidpay. I'd not dealt with that seller previously. I'm not sure, but I think it's pretty difficult to 'retract' a payment that's been made via Bidpay...?

What get's me is this a brand new account or at least 1 feedback. Dang kids shouldn't be allowed to bid on their parents account or even have one at all if they don't have the frickin' funds! sign-rantpost.gif

Well if he's using Daddy's CC on an item that was about $150 there is a good chance he's not 18. I would have asked him how old he is. If he's not 18 then he isn't suppossed to be using ebay and you should just sell to the 2nd highest bidder and if he poopoo's just inform ebay he is in violation of the user agreement. Aslo if he isn't 18 you have no obligation to sell him it since he can't legally be in a binding contract.

I'm waiting to hear back from the next highest bidder and I'll go from there.

Now the doofus wants me to pay extra money so he can get the payment to me faster! insane.gif Bidpay takes up to 10 days to reach me. tongue.gif

I haven't sold anything on ebay since last Spring and I don't think I'll be selling anything on it again for quite a while! mad.gif

Tell me about it! mad.gif The latest email seems to indicate he's willing to go with Bidpay (now Western Union).

Have any of you (as sellers) shipped the item upon confirmtion from Bidpay that payment has been received OR do you wait until the money order is in hand? confused.gif

I've gotten payment through BidPay on one item. I waited to ship it until I got the MO. It didn't take too long to get the money from the time I got the confirmation from BidPay.

I've sold a few auction items in this manner and just shipped off the items before receiving the MO. Bidpay is great for the seller, but if a buyer chooses this option when the seller offers PP as a payment option boggles my mind confused-smiley-013.gif

Latest update:

I have received confirmation from Bidpay of payment. thumbsup2.gif

So the shipping address Bidpay shows is in fricking Santiago, Chile! 893frustrated.gif

Why am I frustrated? I do ship internationally, but the payment received was for 12.00 UPS ground shipment in the US!

Now the next bit of news. Buyer emails and states he has a US address in Miami (which is where I thought he was to begin with). confused.gif

So a new question for you guys (and gal):

Bidpay states that if the buyer is electing a different ship to address from the one in the confirmation email to notify Bidpay immediately of the change.

I'm reluctant to do this as it may throw a wrench in the whole transaction at this point. I'd like to just get it done.

Any thoughts?

Wait two days. By then the money order is in the mail to you. Then, contact Bidpay to tell them about the shipping address change.

It sounds to me like you are selling comics to an illegal alien who is terrified of being deported. Or, you are selling comics to a member of a Chilean crime family who lives in Miami, but can't afford for DEA to know his whereabouts...

Either way, you're in the running for coolest transaction of 2003. thumbsup2.gif

You sure can pick 'em...

So is anyone thinking I'm over-reacting on this one? Haven't really 'done' anything to this point really, but Darth and Ariach both advise me to stop selling...just curious. wink.gif

Thanks to everyone for all the advice! I truly appreciate it! thumbsup2.gif

This transaction has already gone well past the point where a lot of sellers would say "Screw you, this isn't worth my time." Once you subscribe to the concept of acceptable negative feedback, this is a perfect time to just say to heck with this buyer and just not sell him the goods.

If FlyingDonut or BigMan had one more negative than they have now, would it mean people would stop bidding with them? Of course not. So this is a perfect example of why sometimes you just take a negative when dealing with a lunatic. Better to spend that two hours serving thirty real customers that waste it on this guy...

Scottish...I can't speak for Darth....but I was just playin' wit' ya in my last post... sorry.gif

But on a serious note...you should insure the package for the value of the books before shipping and use some type of delivery confirmation... thumbsup2.gif

Note: On a recent ebay transaction of mine I have learned that if you send an insured package via USPS...there is no signature required if the item is insured for $50 or less...

I was just messing with ya too flowerred.gif

But seriously, this has gone past the point of the deal where I usually file the expletive filled negative feedback calling them a waste of life and such...

Just wait until the MO is in your hands, deposit it right away and check to make sure the funds are in your account. THEN and only THEN, should you mail out the book. Or... keep the book. If Lighthouse is right about mafioso ties, you'll be wearing a "Chilean necktie" instead of your Wonder Woman Porno tie confused-smiley-013.gif
