BOSTON - The Boston Comic Book Spectacular Sunday, March 8, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Radisson Hotel, located at 200 Stuart St. in the 6th floor Convention Center. Tens of thousands of New England Comic Book fans have enjoyed previous editions of the popular longtime Boston Comic Book Spectacular which started in 1975 when the hotel was known as Howard Johnson's 57. It is Boston's original comic book convention and the longest-running Comic Book show held in the same location in the United States. The show features over 80 tables of comic books and their creators, original comic art, and toys, plus CDs.

Billy Tan was born in Penange, Malaysia. He went abroad to the United States to get his degree at the University of Kentucky. He was reintroduced to American comics during the study, and put together a portfolio. He did his first comics work for Top Cow Productions. Among his credits are titles like 'Codename: Stryke Force', '21', 'Tales of Witchblade', 'Spirit of the Tao', 'Tomb Raider', 'Inferno' and 'Witchblade Obakemono'. Over at Marvel, he had a regular run on 'X-23' and 'Marvel Knights Spider-Man'. Tan became the regular artist of the Marvel Comics series Uncanny X-Men in 2006. Bob Almond is an award-winning Inker. He is primarily known for his work on various titles, such as Warlock and the Infinity Watch, Black Panther and Annihilation: Conquest - Quasar. He has worked for many comic publishers, including Marvel Comics, DC Comics, Penny-Farthing Press, Malibu Comics, and Acclaim Comics.

In an effort to bring more attention to the craft of inking, its history and its artists, Bob began his regular column "Inkblots" in the pages of SKETCH magazine from Blue Line Pro in 2007. He has also participiated an unofficial capacity in assisting the Comics Buyer's Guide, acting as a resource for identifying and crediting ink artists since 2006. This ultimately led to his formation of The Inkwell Awards in 2008 which further allowed him to inform the public and community of the craft itself.

Scott Wegener lives in New Hampshire. He is the co-creator and artist of The Eisner Award nominated Atomic Robo. He has most recently worked on Punisher War Journal for Marvel, and has worked on several anthologies for Image Comics.

Thanks to all who have inquired about the show. Jim Payette will be set up with some great rare stuff as usual. This is the only show that he sets up at and he is the best in the business. Period. Superworld Ted will have tons of new stuff for Boston's first show of the year. There will be many other quality Comic Book dealers. We will also have our guest of honor Billy Tan and over 30 other artists and writers. Our last show had a lot of positive energy and many happy attendees due to many overdue changes.

Anybody registered on this site who would like free admission for two pm me before 3 p.m. tomorrow Saturday March 7.

Board names will be accepted for those who prefer to remain anonymous.

Another good show for me! I got a nice Harvey Comic Hits (Jungle Terror) from Jim Payette for low money and a remarkable deal on some 20 center Weird Wars! Add a few other odds and ends and call me happy!

Billy Tan was a great guest and everybody had a lot of fun. Attendance was up for the 4th straight show. Dealers reported that sales were brisk averaging 1200-1500 and up on all ages of comics, trades and lots of Watchmen stuff. Buyers were there until the 4 p.m. closing. Lots of new faces.
